Umm are u sure it a 737-800? Because you were at seat 38 and there are only 33 rows on the -800 . Myabe you were on the -900

United has weird row numbering. So yes it an -800. It goes 1,2,3,4,7,8,10,11,12,14,15,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,31,32,34,35,36,37,38
