Well, I had a Gibson 44' houseboat that could negotiate any 'water shot' you showed in this video...and here you have a 40-m vessel (that is, in fact, a 'ship') which I wonder if it could withstand 5-m seas?! 'Offshore Survey' capable? I would have expected you to have some 'rough seas' video of it, since you've got a crab-boat bridge on that thing, makes someone assume it is 'North Sea' capable....I DON'T THINK SO! Sea trials...what kind of seas can it REALLY endure?

Jezus man relaaaaxxsss, catamarans are really good in rough seas its also pretty high above the water and it cuts nicely tru waves so this boat can definitely go offshore. (Unless you are on it because it cant handle the weight of your MASSIVE EGO)

No, you're exactly right, there's no way that this type of Cat design can handle rough seas very well, and it's obvious to anyone who sees the physics of it, except that it is pretty good sized at 40m. It's a shallow-draft vessel due to the weight distribution and buoyancy created by the double hull design, but with a fully integrated hull you have a semi-flat section in between that does not allow for cutting through waves. Thus you Cannot cut through waves, you will hit bottom, and on any significant seas you will occasionally hit bottom very hard and will necessarily stay atop any significant seas that you encounter, which is Not what you want to do. This "forced buoyancy" action will not only make for a very rough experience, but the "hydraulic hammer" effect on the hull could possibly split the thing in half, and undoubtedly make it prone to capsizing due to riding atop every wave to the point where once you go vertical (which is unlikely due to the length), there's a good chance of flipping, and once you go over, there's virtually no hope of the vessel righting itself due to the top-heavy nature of the design (built for shallow draft and high speed traversing) and no keel. All that being said, again it is 134ft long... I'd love to see some computer modelling to "Prove" the design in open ocean conditions. As you said, the water they show is nothing but Glass!
