Allan's not just one of the biggest things to happen to guitar playing in the last 100 years. One of the biggest things to happen to music in the last 100 years. "I don't really like guitar that much" lol

He was Tesla of the guitar. I'm sure that, if he didn't have to pay bills, he would have given his music away freely and gladly.

Allan Holdsworth was a wonderful and completely unpretentious person. A deeply humble genius, without any airs and graces. With his skills and his oeuvre, he left the world an invaluable jewel. Anyone who has ever seen Allan Holdsworth live will confirm this. “An instrument is just a tool, like a screwdriver.” With Holdsworth, such a sentence doesn’t sound like a mock understatement. This is his modesty that set him apart. At a concert at which I had the honor and pleasure of being present, he played a brand new piece. Beforehand, he took out his glasses and apologized to the audience for not being able to read his own notes. Such human warmth and humility is something very rare. R.I.P.

Well… it`s a real pity.. If your’e too advanced, most people don’t understand. Iv’e met Allan once at a jazzclub in Stockholm Sweden and he was very nice an polite to me. He gave me a few minutes of his time and signed one of his cd’s for me. I wish he was still with us…
