I don't know if you agree but something marvelous happens in Allan's formations when the bass player and the drummer comprehend each other to provoque Allan; I think that's the key of Allan's most wornderful improvisations.

Never heard or seen footage of Allan with Peter Erskine before. And the late Dave Carpenter on bass is smoking as usual! Many thanks for sharing this beautiful concert!

nice to see clips of the fatboy. obviously , the delay is a mainstay and the steinberger too. its cool that the newer version seems to be up to his road standards. this and that letters of marque from germany 97 really showcase this guitar and some great trio interplay ( with dave carpenter RIP and gary novak).

Allan was at his prime here I think, although he was still still kicking ass when that Live At Yoshi's DVD was recorded some ten years(?) later.

I agree totally. I think ‘97 may have been his prime. Yoshi’s is incredible as well.

Well James, actually Peter Erskine is the one behind the drumset on this one. And he's quite magistral on his interpretations.

Sometimes i think drums are superfluous with his chordal sequences like they'd be with a great classical composition

'spider finger thingies'. I too have noticed. Look I don't know what's going on with him now, I don't want to say anything critical, I'm developing a rep for doing that and he deserves our accolades.....but,...just, if I can say one thing -wrong personnel at present.
