I discovered you at the beginning of the pandemic. I am a 36 year old Canadian mom who was born with significant fine motor disabilities and when the world shut down, I decided it was the time to finally discover how to play with makeup and figure out how to successfully execute cute looks with my very shaky hands!! Agree! Our cats used to try to get our furniture until we got them a giant (Ugly) cat tree. We added plug in heat mats to a couple of perches and they have left our furniture and carpet/rugs alone! We have it tucked away in a spot where they can watch the birds in a quiet spot. They also have a tone of cat nip pillow toys, and a ball track that they love when they get zoomies.

for the dyson airwrap- use the thinner barrel for a more waved/curl look. The larger barrel gives me more of a blowout/straight with curled ends look... the thinner barrel gives me actual waves. LIFE CHANGING.

"I hate the snow and the cold, but I LOVE to look at it." Yaaaas girl! I grew up in snow and though it's gorgeous, I do NOT miss scraping my windshield or driving in it or my toes going numb. I live in Phoenix, AZ now and I love your Canadian weather updates. I do love seeing the snow and living vicariously through others living where the seasons change. I would put a beautiful bench on the landing upstairs instead of a chair. It gives a quick sitting space and would fill that space better. Realistically you probably won't be sitting there for a super long period of time. I'm also leaning Olive tree for both spaces in the landing and the living room. @ gorgeousmoser

Try a grow light for plants! There are some on the market that look like regular light bulbs instead of those crazy red and purple lights. Mine love them and it makes plant care easier to manage!

Don’t feel bad about the fake plants. I’m an avid gardener but my house doesn’t get indoor sun either. Go to the nursery and buy the bagged sheet moss though. They have all kinds to choose from and it will finish it off nicely when you get the pots. 🌿

The olive tree is cute. If your looking for some plants that will survive low light you should take a look at a money tree. It is also safe for cats ! If you have any medium light areas - Chinese palm trees are really cute and also save for cats.

Olive trees everywhere ... you could get a real fiddle and put it out all summer (mine grew over a foot and put out about 15 new leaves last summer in Toronto) bring it in slowly for a few hours a day in the Fall to get it used to lower light indoors ... then buy it a pretty ceiling hanging grow light and it will flourish @gardenbre

I cannot recommend Snake plants enough if you want some real, super low maintenance greenery! I have had my snake plant for about a year and a half now and I maybe remember to water it every two weeks (definitely longer than that lol). It sits in front of a window that does not get direct sun and I live in a place that doesn’t get a ton of sun to begin with. Some of the leaves on this boy are almost up to my chest in height (I’m 5’5”) and they’ve never been anything but a deep green color!! It’s my trusty steed!

I love the olive tree in both areas! It really does look and sound real. Pots make a huge difference, I found really great ones at Home Sense for all of the plants we have and it completely changes the space. Loving the videos, easily the greatest part of everyday.
