I am a Samoan, and I've played both sports. When I compare the two sports, I say it would be rugby that edges out with the win. To be honest, football is a very physical sport, but the thing is, you can only play on one side of the ball most of the time. In rugby, you have to be good offensively, and defensively. Rugby is a grueling sport, but that doesn't take away the physicality from football. Overall, I take rugby over football.

@keenmi Actually, Michael Jones was in the '87 world cup starting lineup, and he is Samoan. As a matter of fact, he played for Samoa first before he became an All Black. But it's no big deal. They are all New Zealanders regardless of ethnicity.

Samoa B was playing that night, but I liked the two tries they scored. Nicely worked. Uale Mai scored one, but the second one was quite good. ....All Blacks scored 100pts though lol

The AllBlacks' haka is just awesome, its just intense and has a class of its own, even the Samoa one is just dwarfed. Very intimidating too! Imagine facing the AllBlacks with their haka some of us we will shit in our pants and run amok! Love it !

NZ(Tangata Maori), Hawaii(Kanaka Maoli), Tahiti(Tangata Ma'ohi), Samoa(Tagata Mao'i), the phrase Samoa Mao'i means - a pure blood samoan. so all these words refers to Polynesians of the purest blood. Hawaiki of NZ,Hawaii of Hawaiin is, Avai'i of Cook Island, Havai'i of Tahiti all point to Sava'ii of Samoa. in my openinon

(The other teams usually just sit there, arms around each other, faces like six-year-old boys listening to a ghost story ;) )

@keenmi Yeah okay the difference between the team full of Samoans and the All Blacks is millions of dollars in funding, constant play at tier-1 level, and a much larger selection pool. There are 4 million people in New Zealand, to 180,000 in Samoa - about the equivalent of New Zealand having to select a national side from Hamilton.

@MattyIsCool96 Thats because the samoan one is not a haka, it is a siva tau. You can not compare war dances, they are each unique in their own way. I believe the siva tau is a fierce expression of inner and outer strength, but i also believe the haka is absolutely amazing and spine chilling in every way possible.

Do Samoan hakas differ as far as "style" and "presentation"? Compared the All-Blacks, I felt the Somoan guys' haka looked kinda "phoned in" and rushed, as if they just wanted to be done with it. Conversely, the All-Blacks-- true to their rep-- were all fire and passion and aggression...I can't help but feel pumped-up just watching it. Now, there was a clip I saw of the All-Blacks and the squad from Tonga facing off and doing their hakas; **THAT** was the very definition of "bad-ass."

I agree wiht tufuet, some what, and same with UHtiger! The best of the all blacks are and have been Samoa such as Tana Umaga. NZ also has good Rugby schooling, but every one gets it not just the Samoans. There for it seems to be that the Samoans are the best players. We do loose a lot of them to the All Blacks, but not all of them I mean best player ever stayed with the Manu...Brian Lima!! Now tufuet come on don't say that remember fa'asamoa uso be proud of your samoan usos!! Tofa!
