If you are in the north east the nyc Disney cruises are way more affordable then any other Disney vacations. No flying or need to have a hotel the night before if you are close enough to the city and that saves a ton. Plus the nyc cruises are way less expensive then disney world or the florida cruises. Bermuda is the best carribean port of call I’ve been to so the excursions are still great and sailing down the Hudson on departure day seeing the city and the Statue of Liberty is breathtaking.

I think that’s hard to get from this group considering majority of the creators on the channel are so young or child free. There are a ton of other creators on KZbin who focus on this. Tim Tracker has been on several Disney cruises with his son. Though they have a tendency to spend the big bucks and get big suites so it’s hard to judge what a more normal family would experience

I would also advocate for seeing things catered to older adults also. I guess Breedlove somewhat fills that niche, but I know my partner and I approach visiting the parks way differently than 20 somethings or families.

Norwegian Cruises have offerings for all ages! Bars, shows, teen clubs, day care, water slides, spas, arcades, casinos, water parks, dance parties......the list goes on and on. Dining is whenever you want to, either the inclusive restaurants, or specialty restaurants (which is an extra cost) but you don't need to go to them, because there are so many included options on board. Way cheaper than Disney Parks, or Disney cruises.

Thank you for including a section on Accessibility! I encourage you to add in accessibility that isn't only related to physical disabilities such as people with mobility equipment and other mobility accommodation needs. For example, including info on if the shows on the cruise line have offerings with ASL interpreters, captions, braille menus and reading material, size inclusivity (i.e. cruise bathrooms do be tiny), etc. Thanks for what you do ❤ Y'all are the best!

Honestly that price difference is much much less considering what’s included on a Disney cruise compared to others. I’ve only been on Holland America and food was included but it wasn’t very good food. I was too young to drink so not sure on that but I think they have a drinks package. Frankly , it was a boring cruise for a 19-year-old. And it was quite pricey. There are very, very few circumstances that would induce me to cruise again, but a Disney cruise would do it. And Quincy’s story of her childhood cruise makes me actively want to take my 7-year-old.

I might choose a cruise over Disney World if Disney paid me for doing it, instead of charging me. The idea of being trapped in the middle of the ocean in a crowded boat with thousands of other people and no means of escape sounds more like a nightmare to me than a vacation.

Loved the dance moves at the end lol. That was fantastic. I'm like Quincy - I need the itemized spreadsheet lol. I'm usually the one creating the whole plan so we can make sure we do everything we want to at Universal or Disney. It doesn't mean we don't have to pivot sometimes but we have dinner reservations placed before we leave for our vacation, we have a plan to utilize EPA effectively, we know what rides & shows we want to focus on, etc.

I remember the Big Red boats of Disney cruises... those were a blast as a wee lad. I've yet to check out the new Disney cruises, but do plan on taking one down the road. I'm all for simple relaxation (which is why I prefer Old Key West resort over others), so here's hoping I can enjoy a Disney cruise with my niece and nephews so we can share the Disney experience. Translated: they can do the activities, I can do the relaxation. Haha.

Way back in 2012 we went to Disney World as a family. Our boys were 4 and 1.5 years old. I am type A and was ill prepared for a Disney World vacation. Two years later we wanted to vacation again and I had heard about these magical Disney cruises. We have been hooked ever since. I love that we receive that fabulous Disney service without the 10 miles a day walking and Florida heat. After taking a Royal Caribbean cruise in 2019 to try another cruise line, we were throughly disappointed. The service is meh and they nickel and dimed us in my opinion. I would rather spend the money on Disney than gamble on another cruise line. I think that my husband and I will continue to sail DCL even after our children are out of the house.

I honestly prefer the cruise line to the parks. I think the cruise ends up costing as much as the parks when you consider accommodations at WDW and food. For a family of 4, a cruise costs about the same as the same time in the parks. Plus, I find it more relaxing. Disney cruises of course cost more than competing lines, but I'm usually comparing the cost to the park rather than another line.

I honestly don't like the Wish for adult areas. I don't love that they aren't separated like they are on the other ships. We love the Magic best, then Fantasy, then Dream, then Wonder. Wish last. But Wish does have the best spa.

Yes!! We went on a cruise to have family time in a very different way but my kids just wanted to be at the kids club from the time they got up till the time it closed at night. I am super glad they had a great time but I didn't get to do things with them. Even the castaway cay day they wanted to do the island with their new friends than with me. So we won't be doing anymore cruise for a while.

Disney cruise has fireworks!! 20 years ago when we took our 4 and 6 year old on our first Disney cruise. They never wanted to do kids club because they were in different age groups and didn't want to go alone. So they stayed with us the whole time. Which was fine with us, but they would have loved kids club if they could go together and have each other as buddies.

My husband and I just celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary aboard the Disney Fantasy and the experience was fantastic. Even when you're not celebrating anything special, Disney Cruise Line is spectacular. I would do Disney cruise, rather than the parks any day! I agree that other cruise lines are much cheaper and I enjoyed them, but Disney magic can not be duplicated. I say save your money for a bit longer and do the cruise. We've been going to the Disney Parks for over 40 years and have recently stopped and opted for the cruise experience instead. I believe the value of Disney Cruise Line makes gives it the edge over the parks.

I just had an idea watching the video : A conversation /section in one of your future video could be tips aimed to foreigners or maybe shared experiences from foreign guests coming from Europe or elsewhere in the world. Visa tips, best deals for flights and hotels packages depending from where you come from, regulations at the airports, or whatever can come handy as a foreigner. ❤

What would it take for me to go on a Disney Cruise? If it were free. The only cruises I've ever done are the scuba diving equivalent but I have no desire to do one. I can go to all the places - with the exception of Castaway Cay - the cruise goes to for less and see the parts of the islands that aren't on the big cruise docks. I can stay at an all inclusive lux. resort in all those places and be catered to for less. I think the only cruise I might take would be one of the smaller niche ones that go to out of the way places.

Another thing to add to this -- care for food allergies!! Disney is UNPARALLELED. I went on RC for my cousin's wedding. She was the literal bride, who brought thirty people on a cruise with her and was eating at a chef table for dinner and they still gave not enough bleeps to send her into shock/require meds. GET IT TOGETHER RC. Disney cares SO much about that!!

I agree! I have a severe allergy to mushrooms that any kind of contact eating or touching I go into anaphylaxis. My mom is allergic to mint and pork and for a while there it was easier to list what my cousin wasn’t allergic to. Disney has been soooooooooo accommodating for our allergies and went above and beyond to make it the best experience for us. The last RC I went on was just as good, but I have had some issues on other cruise lines and had to get a little karen-y to express how severe our allergies can be. I NEVER have to fight that hard on Disney cruises

A couple of things on what RJay had to say concerning kids. One is that you still need to be responsible for your kids when they're not in the care of cast members. The poster's comment about kids running in the hallway was all about that. Parents still need to be parents. The other is that there are open house times for the clubs throughout the cruise. These are times when you can do those fun things with your kids. Be aware, Oceanears club will only have one side open at a time so that there is a secure area for solo kids. The adult areas on the classic and Dream classes are great, with pools, hot tubs and plenty of lounging areas. (No personal experience on the Wish.) We love Disney cruises as adults.

We took a 7 day 6 night WDW trip in august 2022. Stayed at AKL and had 5 park days. Total cost was about $6600 for our family of three. We just booked our first DCL cruise for august 2024 (7 night eastern caribbean on the fantasy) and the cruise alone is $6200 before airfare, ground transfers, any optional food and drinks, merch etc. so i would say cruise is definitely more expensive than our WDW trip.

For me, a major difference between amusement parks and cruising is the pace you operate at. At a park, there's a lot of pre-planning and go-go-go to maximize your time. On a cruise, you can basically operate at half-speed. The only time you see passengers rushing around is if they're pier runners (IYKYK). Now, speaking specifically about DCL, I consider it to be a cruise ship that attempts to deliver an immersive Disney experience. How successful they are is subjective. For example, I feel like they do deliver on the Disney experience. Putting aside the Disney Experience, DCL is a fine cruise line, and I'd say their dinner service stands out amongst the cruises I've been on. But outside of that, there's nothing that stood out, and to be honest, outside of the Disney Experience, I've felt that other cruise lines were more enjoyable, and at a lower price, and even with some of the nickel/dime tactics (which are easy to avoid once you get used to spotting those upsells). So it's hard for me to justify paying that extra coin when I know that, for what I'm looking for, I can get for less on Royal or Carnival or Princess (looking to try MSC at some point). But bear in mind that I am someone who went on other cruise lines before going on Disney, so my perspective is that of a cruiser that looks at DCL from the lens of a cruiser first and a Disney fan second. If you've only done DCL and go on other lines, your perspective could be a complete 180 from mine. If you've never done a cruise before and are looking to do so, my advice is this: no matter what cruise line you take, go for at least 5 nights. 3 or 4 nights really isn't enough to really "get" what cruising is about. Also, some of those short non-Disney cruises have been known to be "booze cruises" due to price and relatively cheap cost of drink packages. And importantly, do your research! There are a bunch of cruise-specific KZbinrs that can give you a ton of information to help you out, even if it's not for your chosen cruise line.
