As a Canadian from Ontario, I approve of this fly.

I love spanflex bodies on nymphs. They look so cool and they are really durable. I’ve been fishing a much simpler version of this in larger sizes for the past year and it’s now one of my confidence flies. I like how simple this specific pattern is so I can tie a bunch of them for winter and not be too sad when I break them off on the bottom 😂

I usually use my wifes eyebrow scissors... They work really well... I get smacked for it, but my fly is happy.

Cheech is a Dee-Gen from upcountry?!

Typically fish look up to get their food, almost never down, so having the wing case on the bottom of the fly, is better imo….

Anything as small as a nymph gets pushed around by the current. Nymph’s can’t keep their orientation while floating around. Hence why they don’t care and eat them up.
