If you hike or if you don't, Tara does an excellent job narrating her trek in the Allegheny Nation Forest. Such an impressive endeavor, congratulations Tara and all who decided to take this 'walk'!!!

Nice video - I agree the "pack" mentality can snatch you quickly at the beginning and you end up walking faster/further than you had planned (my reference is more towards your upcoming AT). As I'm sure you are doing, on the AT just sat a daily goal to reach a specific shelter or do a specific number of miles then stop. Best of luck to you

I'm Stephen Reiners Dad. I watched his video as far as his go pro's battery lasted. I thought your video was very interesting and you seem very sweet. So I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Stephen Reiner his dad. I am from upstate NY and now reside in Morgantown, WV where my father was raised. Hmm, that kid just never stops, like me. It was cool watching him in the 100. I wish you the best and of course stay safe and have fun. Maybe sometime I'll get the opportunity to speak with you. Bye for now, good luck and best of times. Respectfully, Stephen J. Reiner

Thank you for documenting your experience. I appreciate the no nonsense approach. Did you hear the whippoorwills Friday around midnight? You would have enjoyed them. I didn't sleep because the coyotes sounded closer after turning off my headlamp, and I missed having my dogs with me. I reached Henrys Mills between 2:00 and 2:30 on Saturday. I plan on doing the 75 mile trek next year. Take care, -Jeff

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you're planning the 75 mile trek next year. It was a great event. I didn't hear the whippoorwills but I have heard them before on my backpacking trips - and caught glimpses of them too! Coyotes don't usually bother me - especially with that many people at the event. Be well and Happy Journeys!
