Great analogy with the Typewriter and Computer. I've never heard it explained that way, but makes total sense and a great way to help others comprehend the analog and digital difference. Excellent!!

I learned live sound on analog desks and always found Digital desks like this to be over complicated and very alien, but you explained it in a way that made sense and now I feel like I have a much better understanding on how these digital desks work! Thank you!

Yes, once you get your head wrapped around the differences, they offer some real advantages :)

Very good job with the analogy to help someone with knowledge of analog understand the possibilities of digital.

How has the translation to digital been in the last few months? Are you glad u did it?
@AndrewBellous5 жыл бұрын
@@ceo9 absolutely. In terms of usability and features, an old analog board just can't compete with even an entry level digital board. The leap forward in effects and features is a huge value.

Andrew Bellous, I have a question. My church plans to get the sq5. I am having a hard time understanding how to get 48ch on the sq5. We currently have the qu16 it’s a one to one patch.
@AndrewBellous5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the SQ5 can do 48 channels, but to input all those channels, you would need a breakout box which would connect via network cable. The box would go onstage, and you could plug in directly. Something like an AR-84 or an AB-168. You would then patch those additional inputs to layers, and but pushing a button, your faders would switch to the alternate channels. So, you might control 1-16 on one layer and 17-32. But layers can be customized for a mix of channels, groups and other controls to be conveniently placed together.

How has the board held up over the years. Do you ever record multi-track audio onto the USB drive? Thanks in advance.
@AndrewBellous4 жыл бұрын
I had access to this board briefly while I was working for a company that had it as a demo unit. Haven't heard that they had any issues with it, and A&H is widely known for the solid products they produce with great longevity.

can you make a comparison in sq7 of A&H and Presonus SL64

Sorry, I'm no longer employed by the company that allowed me access to that equipment. I've returned to pastoral ministry after a time in Audio/Video installation.

Hi Vic. I appreciate your frustration. I work helping churches with sound systems, so I try to take it really slow and assume the people I'm talking to need things repeated. I understand how that can be a problem for those who are already up to speed.
@VicDemise6 жыл бұрын
Actually, I'm sorry for the overtly rude comment. I was in a mood, and I commend the civility of your response. My bad. (I prolly need a sammich!)
