@GPLOCK it's an expression. Kobe was named the black mamba in his playing days, known for his fierce competitiveness. Black mamba snakes are one of the deadliest poisonous snakes in the world. When Kenyon Martin was talking trash to him he was having a mediocre night, but he essentially wakened the beast inside him and destroyed them scoring 49 points.

pogiazz1 not true Kobe scored over 20 in the 1st so he started hot, it was game 1 where Kobe went I think 10 for 30 then the media was like Kenyon can guard Kobe then he score 49 with 10 assists the next game and torched him the rest of the series

@@biggarah11 you must be a kid. The early 2000s was one of the worse periods in the NBA post 1970s. Terrible teams, boring one on one basketball, and a bunch of Euro stiffs being drafted at the top of the lottery. There were some great players but overall the league was hurting.

Israel Rosario Jr. commercially it wasn't doing good with the mainstream media but I think he meant the culture and the time, It was really great being a fan back then now there's so many casual fans and fake fans, back then only basketball fans watched basketball. But you can't call it boring there were a bunch of young iconic stars that came along with that era no one had seen an Allen Iverson before, Vince Carter dunking antics along with TMAC and Kobe , Kidd and Nash playmaking skills, The PF of early 00's, Shaq blah blah I'm getting off the subway now lol cya
@Israel-nb7ip

@@myd0ugie commercially it wasn't doing well because the teams were terrible outside of the early 00's Lakers and a small handful of others like the Kings, Mavs, Spurs (who were boring), Nets etc. And, yes, I did say that there were some good young stars but overall there weren't enough of them to make up for the poor style of play and the bad teams everywhere. Everybody was trying to be an MJ rip off. I personally enjoyed it because I'm a basketball fan and fan of the NBA but it was a low period overall compared to the 80s, 90s and where we are now...even though I'm not crazy about the new rules in today's NBA. I just don't want us to overstate it by saying it was a legendary time when it wasn't. A lot of terrible basketball.

The thing that caught my attention is the fact that HE KNOWS that he would never be the NBA logo . The NBA and David Stern hated him as much as it gets . He changed the culture , he was rocking way bigger jerseys , he had tattoos all over him and he was real , which is the thing that pissed the NBA the most . He knows that David Stern didn't like him and probably still doesn't and i'm happy for the fact that he scared the shit outta him in the Finals against the Lakers cause the NBA wanted the Lakers to win and A.I. challenged the fuck outta them . I saw Allen Iverson play in his last two high school basketball games, during his junior year. But the first time I heard about him was when he was a 10th-grader, back when USA Today used to report daily on high school sports from every state. I remember reading that Allen Iverson, a sophomore, intercepted 13 passes this year and made first-team All-State. Allen Iverson was incredible playing for Bethel High.

Played every play like it was his last and was ruthless at getting to the rim.
