I kinda don't like it when he says that the nano mathematics genius could only be a "casual player" it sort of annoyed me cause if the player tried harder he might be a lot better than " a casual player"

I think your missed his points. If you spend all your time being a nano mathematics genius you missed the key learning point of the trumpet. The art of loving the music. With out the love of music, your brain will block all creativity and there for stopping your body from experimenting and finding what works. All masters of this instrument tells you in the first lesson, get your brain (thoughts) out of the technical of “How To Play”.
