When you compare this LCW with the LCW now, you can clearly see the present LCW is much more faster, anticipative, powerful and neater. It was not him trying to play passive, it was more of a conservative strategy to avoid mistake. The LCW now is insanely neat with no mercy if he determines. Well, of course Lin Dan is just as insane, if not more.

No doubt LD achieved the most, but Taufik is the greatest (I'm not Indonesia). LCW was already top men single in 2008 - young, skillful, superb defence, etc. Only after he loss to LD in BeiJing so badly, he realise he is far from best and he went on to evolve to his prime, like supersayan transformation. That's why he will always be second to LD (as long as LD maintain his training). Just want to remind everyone. LD was also top top since 2004. They called him Super Dan. But he still kept on losing to Taufik in 2005, 2006 even though Taufik no longer on form. Only after that LD realise there is a huge skill gap. He went on to properly train his technical skill, control, and net play. Coupled with his insane attack, he then became undisputed # one in 2008. This is why LD will always be considered second to Taufik. I know many ppl will say LD/ LCW after 2012 are insanely good, invincible and one level above the rest. But I also want to remind everyone that Taufik was already one level above the rest when he was around 20 year old. If LD/ LCW was only working hard to catch up with Taufik's game, how can they be considered better than Taufik? Taufik didn't decline, he simply had noone/ motivation to fight/ benchmark.

First of all, I think ranking players who peak at different times is ultimately an exercise in futility. That being said, LD loses to Taufik in 2004 and 05, trains really hard and stops losing to Taufik... and somehow that means he's still second to Taufik? Great rationale. He was called Super Dan due to his speed and potential, but he was still early in his career. Unfortunately we will never know what peak LD vs peak Taufik would be like because they never exactly overlapped. However, it is baseless of you to say that he comes in second to Taufik.

Secondly, losing motivation/will to improve is an automatic negative against a player. Just because Taufik may have had some sort of subjective, immeasurable "innate talent" that was subjectively "higher" than LD, the very fact that he didn't persist as long at a high level as LD did makes the argument of "Taufik>LD" a specious one. Ultimately though it's purely subjective as I said before, you have a right to your opinion; just figured I'd throw some discussion your way.

Cuma Taufiq perform nya tidak konsisten malah makin menurun setelah menikah. Lcw sama Ld perform konsisten sampai dilanjut usia pensium. Sebab tu Lcw Rival nya sama Ld sampai Lcw pensium 2019 akibat penyakit cancer, tahun berikutnya Ld jgk pensium ditahun 2020 kerana Ld sudah tidak ada rival lg dan era mereka pun menjadi sejarah.
