Looks fantastic. Have you experienced any disease issues with the bent lawn that you seeded? I seeded a browntop bent lawn a few weeks later than you here in Leicester and it’s had a few disease outbreaks in July with patches dying off

I've not with the space that I've seeded, but I've had a small amount on the space that I turfed. I think it was because of the density along with the amount of rain we've had this summer. It's only been in the last week that it's been able to breathe a bit!

It’s a good review but outside my budget. From what I’ve read it would be worth playing and probably lowering the grass comb. It’s great at standing up Poa and if you can then keep cutting off the stalks / seed heads it will be stressed and less likely to survive.

I'm going to have a go at adjusting it this week to see how it does with weed grasses 👍🏻

Evening buddy, that bottom lawn is looking lovely… I’ve got the liberty 43. I’d say give it a few more months and there will be somethings that you’d wish was better for the money. For me I’ve found the paint on the cylinder chips away pretty quickly, for the price, I’d like a more robust powder coating for longevity. I’ve found the grass rake isn’t exactly parallel with the front reel so it can be a pain to set. Maybe on the Cambridge thay ironed out some of the QA issues.,don’t get me wrong. I love mine. But as you say, it’s an expensive piece of kit and for the money I’d have liked a bit more quality. Kinda puts me off getting a sterling.
@MaRavens3 ай бұрын
@NoviceGardener3 ай бұрын
It will be interesting to see how it gets on over the next year. For the price, I'm hoping for some longevity!

Will you raise the height in the autumn? I'm not sure raising the height does much other that leave it open for disease for the illusion of more grass. If it's going to thin due to lack of light it's going to thin. May as well have it look tidy.
@NoviceGardener3 ай бұрын
I think I'm going to, but not by a lot. Was going to keep it possibly at 25/30mm potentially. I recon it will have some die back with how much shade my garden gets through winter, but hopefully it's not as bad as last year!

@@NoviceGardener If you are still using true grass there is something identical that costs £60 plus delivery of £23 (in my areas) for 20kg. Its far cheaper. It's called terralift TX 10 from which can be purchased from atkins online. £190 vs £83 so less than half the price (43%)!

@NoviceGardener3 ай бұрын
Yep, it’s a bi fold. We used to have it open all the time, but since we’ve had the dog, we don’t use it as much. If we give him free rein into the garden, he does what he can to dig everything up 😅

The lower lawn looks good,not bad for just seeding,l told you😅 The mower your choice😀a lawn that small l'd go on the lowest speed,better stripes. You're lucky your not having to put a 45 kg Weilbang in and out of a truck,day in day out.😂

its like i dont want to say how much money i have free to spend on whatever i like as that would be wrong. But i could easily afford one of these and id love to have one too, But something tells me that spending 2k on a lawn mower is madness. i just cant justify doing it as much as id want too, i feel everyone has a value on something. its like why spend 100 quid on a showere curtain when you can get one for a tenner. I defo do not buy cheap as i feel you buy cheap you buy twice. But you dont need to spend 2k on a mower to get good quality one.

@@SuperChalkster yes it’s made in Britain. If you’re spending £2000 on a mower you clearly think it’s worth the price tag or you wouldn’t buy it . Cylinder mowers are prestige mowers - they’re not for those customers who just want to hack their grass off once a fortnight.

You missed one most important part which contributes to reliability is if it has plastic parts in the drive train and belts which wear out easily for summer grass type like thick Bermuda. Good of UK lawn but not for big southern US lawn.
@ALLETTMOWERSUK3 ай бұрын
They’re plastic so they are easily replaceable If you hit a root with metal gears you’re more likely to cause more damage They’re a fail safe

Sadly, most of us British lawn enthusiasts don’t consider ‘Bermuda’ to be a grass. We look upon it as being a weed! Long live the British striped lawn.👍😎
