I live in the Midwest, there isn’t candlepin bowling here. Such a shame it’s not more popular! I’d love to try it. I’ve watched a lot of these regional bowling shows and I love to watch Tom bowl! Such skill he has for bowling.

Watched this with my 3 boys on Saturdays in the 80's after which we fired up the Intellivision and proceeded to play a few strings. Loved Don Gillis and Frank Avrush ( the original Bozo the Clown ) as the local announcer.

Candlepin is so, so much better than ten-pin bowling and the watermelon. I don't know enough about duckpin to comment on it.

I’ve lived near Baltimore since 2000, so I’ve seen duckpins. Interesting. A lot closer to candlepins than 10-pin/big ball. I grew up in MA with candlepins.

Halifax has lost some popular Candlepin Bowling Lanes over the years, notably Halifax Fairlanes (only Bowling Alley in Nova Scotia to have 10 Pin Bowling as well as Candlepin), Beazley Lanes, and Whebby's Bowladrome. Beazley Lanes was where Halifax's televised Candlepin Bowling competitions were held.
