Hello Sir thank you for teaching this concept but in the 3rd example i.e copper is to solution the final ratio of the mixture comes out to be 50:160 therefore the final percentage of the copper in the mixture should be 50/210 i.e 23.80%.

Hi sir, I am stuck with the below problem though I have solved it, I am not sure if it is right . Could you please help me with this problem. A man buys milk at 85 per litre and dilutes it with water. He sells the mixture at the same rate and thus gains 11.11%. find the quantity of water mixed by him in every liter of milk. a. 0.111 litres b. 0.909 litres c. 0.1 litre d. 0.125 litres Solution : Cost price=85 / litre Selling price=85 / (1/a) litre(a>1)as it is diluted. 1/9 = (85a-85)/85 a = 10/9 Selling price = 85 / (9/10) litre. Remaining is 1/10 litre. Which is 0.1 litre. Here I am getting 0.1 answer. Is that right sir?

Hey Arun! Since the ratio of SP/CP=10/9, 9 will correspond to the cost of milk i.e. 85 liters, 1 unit cost =85/9 (which is the profit = water qty.). Now, for 85 units we are adding 85/9 units of water. For 1 liter of milk, you'll have to add 1/9 unit of water i.e.111... Hope this helps.

0.111 will be the answer, you did it correct but all what you missed is what the question is asking. In 0.9 litre of milk, 0.1 litre of water is mixed, so in 1 litre of milk 1/9 litre of water is mixed.
