Brilliant day drive from Spear Creek Holiday park to Mt Remarkable National Park
A circuit hike along the full length of Alligator Gorge, including the Narrows and the Terraces. Apparently exploring the gorge during Spring you can see abundant wildflowers.
The Narrows is a gorge a couple of metres wide which stretches for several hundred metres. The Terraces are a series of platforms which the creek flows down. There was no creek when we walked (Mid Jan 2023) but there was some water.
Walking anti-clockwise, when you leave the gorge and reach the Ring Route Track, you could undertake a short sidetrip by turning right and heading up the firetrack to The Battery for spectacular views over the Spencer Gulf.

"Orroroo" was officially named by a C.J. Easther, an early settler in the region. The Register of 16 November 1926 gives two still further alternatives, stating that Orroroo was the name of an Aboriginal girl who lived on nearby Pekina station, and that the town was for some reason named in honour of this girl, but also noting that others have suggested the name derivates from an Aboriginal word meaning 'dust', 'drift', or 'a windy locality'.
Great town, has all
Your essentials and some great places to visit including one of the largest Red Gums, 7000yr old Indigenous carvings and the beautifulLion Club reserve at Pikina.
