I have listened to and played blues for 40 years. This guy is a blues icon in the making. He's got the soul, the chops, the voice, the humility and the back story. No doubt.

I just watched his show at Horseshoe Tavern Toronto. my brain is still under siege. I am completely blown away, the last time anyone blew my mind this much the first time seeing someone was in 1983 at the El Mocambo watching SRV + DT. hours later and I am still saying What did I see What was I witnessing. Kingfish is incredible.

He bends a note that hits you right in the feels then gives you another that makes you involuntarily do a scrunched up guitar face and just when you think he can't squeeze any more pleasure out of you he gives you something that brings tears to your eyes. Damn this guy is good!

Seen this young man in Kansas City a year ago , he was just 19 , he played 3 1/2 hours straight with zero breaks ! If you get a chance to see Kingfish live , jump on it !!

Wow! He played 3 hours straight with no breaks. That is tough for the best of them! He is absolutely fantastic! This set is my favorite at this point.

@@ricardomartinezxx I've never seen anyone trash him for his weight, but I know a lot of folks who found out about him (and loved his music instantly) have been very concerned about his health. To his very great credit, he has made big strides with his weight. It is NOT EASY to deal with a weight problem. Yet he's lost a lot of his excess weight and I really wish him the very best. He's a wonderful, super nice, personable, respectful young man, and an even more wonderful artist. He's an absolute credit to his family and especially his mom. I wish him all the success in the world.

Don’t kid yourself. To inspire the masses of young folks these days you need to sing mumble rap and get tattoos on your face. Let’s hope he inspires something underground that can flourish overseas where people still like real instruments not just synths. American music is dead as long as the youth are social networking instead of starting bands and performing like in generations past before the great sleep and media induced psychosis.

Really though do you hear what passes for music these days? Scary, like I said I am too old. I am only 40 but what I remember being music isn’t even around anymore. I don’t even thinks it’s made by people probably a damn algorithm based on psychological data. FYI- I said the opposite thing in another thread. Don’t ever assume people believe what they say online. Everybody has a role to play. Gotta balance the troll.

My son introduced me to Kingfish! OMG, I love his music. I have a two month old grandson that is sometimes colicky. I put on Empty Promises and he drifts off to sleep. My son has bought us tickets and we will see him in Birmingham!! I’m so excited!!!!

Yeah, I noted that during his performance. His percussion section is perfect! That bass player...wow...his fills are perfectly timed as is the drummer (who I heard is his brother). What a treasure. I was so impressed I bought the song. WOW!

this kid is so special. John Mayer is closest to my age, with Joe Bonomassa, so their songs and lyrics really speak to me...but Kingfish is hte man! He is the NEXT icon for the blues and I couldn't be happier for him.

I have a Hamer Archtop with similar pickups . (Jalen Super Classic set ) They really sing with some volume behind them but still hold grit and sustain at lower volume ..

Greatest guitarist I've heard in my 32 of living. I'm not talking about blues,metal or any other genre I'm talking about pure guitarist. This guy can play whatever he chooses to play and he'll be miles ahead of the competition. I've never gotten goosebumps the way I do when I hear this man play. I've listened to all the great guitarists of the last 60 years and this guy surpasses them all by a long shot.

As a white Australian that has grown up with my stepdad (blues musician) with muddy waters, bb King, Nat King Cole, Robert Johnson stevie Ray vahn Eric Clapton etc always playing in the background of my family home, this guy Kingfish has blown my brain sideways and upside down with his young talent! Can't wait to see what comes from him next. Sooooo much love and I can't keep the tears from flowing from happiness for the amazing music he is making 🙏🎶😍❤️👌♥️

He’s a genius!!! The way he’s mixing scales and modes for dramatic effect is so incredible. I’m getting major Frampton vibes!!! With some Gary Moore and Robin Trower thrown in. But most of all, I hear him!!! He makes that guitar speak!!! That little descending lick at 6:40 seriously gave me goosebumps!!! It was simple, but so tasteful!!!

He knows how to get out of the pentatonic scale...A snippet of a cleaner major sound keeps it interesting...A piece of B flat.. A piece of C like what he did at 6.40 was smooth af. Only criticism from me is that he uses the wah pedal a little too much for my liking...Others may disagree though.

When I see him play all I can think is A Mothers Love is the most important aspect to his career and skill set. She made sure he had this path and sacrificed every aspect of her life to ensure he would be who he is right now. Know his life and know his story so that you can use it as an example for all you do going foreward.

Caught Kingfish in Phoenix, Az. on 05/17/22, at the Orpheum Theater. What a smokin' hot show! I've seen many guitarists in the last 50+ years but at 23 years old, Christone Ingram has already put his stamp as a truly fine player. His touch and feel are incredible. The future of the blues is in good hands!
