That's the whole thing with projects like these tractors, you will never get what you put into them, but the work and outcome to me are always worth it in the end. Then the other issues is cost of parts and how many parts are going to be needed or repaired. Same issues I am in with my 1939 Allis B I picked up this past spring, but I think over time I will enjoy it in the end and put it in a few parades around here, use it for the fun of it. I hope you decide to go ahead with the resto on this, it will be an interesting adventure and one I am sure me and others would love to see!

When it comes to saving an old tractor my heart over rules my head I would love to see you save it. If you love doing this sort of thing it’s worth it even if the money doesn’t add up, hobbies don’t always make money or sense you do them for joy and satisfaction. I hope that makes sense.

Seeing you work on the c would be great but i understand cost. I like your videos on all your projects you don't fast forward through your repairs unless if it is redundant.

*YES!!!* 😀 I don't think I've clicked on a video faster! Glad you're getting back in the swing of things! 😁 I don't know what to say for certain but since there's no sentimental value, I'd say walk away. You could always sell it for parts. Like you mentioned, tires would be the biggest expense for it. I know you'll think of what to do. Take care Jason!

I'm in the process of going thru a 1944 Allis Chalmers C. I'm trying to keep the cost down on mine as well, however I want a reliable tractor in the end. Mine was a good running tractor when I started. Best of luck to which ever way you go.

Glad to see you're back working on the C! I say to go ahead and fix it or use for it for parts to fix another one. There are lots of used parts out there for these if you need to keep costs down.

I think I'm going to hold onto it and see if I can find some used rims and rubber to keep the cost down.

I’m all for saving old tractors but IMHO that one looks like a good candidate to be parted out.

I definitely will watch the project if you decide to continue on it. Im not much for advice on the engine stuff, I'm still learning haha, I'm sure the transmission issue would be minor, even at that there are plenty of Allis C's out there, maybe get a whole gear set from a Allis salvage yard? It's crazy, the mechanical stuff is almost cheaper to do than put tires on tractors!!

It’s great to see ya making videos again Jason!! I really want to see that tractor restored, but when it comes to the block I think I’m with Zane on this one. It might be more trouble than it’s worth. That being said if the tractor means something to you at the end of the day and you want to finish what you started then money is no factor. I’ll enjoy watching whatever you post!😀👍

FINALLY YOUR BACK!!!!! Just in time for my c that I’m ripping apart but she’s a runner. Jason I’ve spoken to you on FB a few times and might have called you at he company phone last year I don’t recall but my 2 cents, if you had 100,000 subs and the vid would bring you couple grand in revenue I would say go ahead as I love the money aspect but I’m semi retired and restore stuff as a hobby so these under 5 grand projects to me are hobbies and just play money, keep me outta trouble and you keep growing. I started a channel with goat vids and an engine restore vid and got 800 subs before I knew it and love my supporters and I’ve never had the balls to even face the camera yet to a salute you Brotha! . Some people do cruises, some people do drugs and some have a side girl lol. Trust me worse hobbies and ways to spend your money. If you like it and the challenge which I saw your wd45 series 2-3 times your def capable and you will have the only video o YT of a legit train wreck c that came back to life. Or have a CA rear end put on, each swap, little internally different but easy swap, which I did years ago and regret selling her. Best little tractor i owned and make her a 4 speed. Tried and true and more valuable and basically a mini wd/wd45 Personally I would start a go fund me and see if there are some guys willing to throw 5-10-20 bucks and set a goat of like 1,250 bucks or 2,500 and that would cover most of the big stuff like engine overhaul, and tires and rims which aren’t bad on 24” tires. Try my d-15 with oddball 26”. 600 a tire. Insane. I legit don’t want to drive her haha Just a thought. If guys want to learn and your very meticulous and very good at explaining, they will toss a couple bucks and with a 1300 subs and more to come I bet you hit a grand before you know it and there’s your tires and rims. If you need help I’m a Steiner dealer and gotta meet my quota yearly. Hit me up and I’ll place an order for ya. I’m doing a c and another d15 so gotta place an order soon anyway S. Joseph FB CT Homesteader Or Shorelinetractor@gmail.com Good luck with decision I’ll be watching. I know you will build it. You waited this long as a master tease plan hahaha

I would love to see you rebuild it. But I completely understand the cost aspect of it. I am just starting on an Allis Chalmers CA that belonged to my dad and granddad. It has a cracked block to the outside and something in the rear end is locked up. I will be doing it little at a time.

the block on our wd was cracked like that top and bottom tho, went to a salvage yard got a good used one. i think the c is worth fixing just depends how much how much someone wants to spend.

Restoring a WD-45, same dilemma, had to by new tires front@ back plus new back rims , power adjustable rims at 500$ apiece.

I was lucky and only needed front tires when I did my wd45. Rims and tires are considerably cheaper for the C, but still an expense I'm not looking forward to.

Well, interesting as it is, but I inherited a 1952 CA this past November. I really didn't want it as it was 14 hrs away in Pennsylvania, but it was my uncle's and he wouldn't accept no. It's a cute little tractor, pedestal front and I just got it running after it had been sitting for 7 years. I'm still not done with my grandpa's WD45, but once that is done, I will do a full restoration on this CA.

Thats a tough one for sure. We all know it will look good when you're done with it, should you fix it. I spent a lot of money on my 1020 JD but I do have a good tractor now. I did enjoy rebuilding it but money wise I would have been better off with a different tractor. Tough call. Keep smilin

Glad to see a video from you! As you say, there is no economic justification for bringing that tractor back. You also mentioned that it doesn't have any sentimental value to you. Then, opposed to the WD45, it really won't do much when it's done. All that said, if you enjoy doing it doing it and have the money to put into it, why not?

Fixing up my C wasn't the cheapest. Bought all new internals for the engine. Thankfully I didn't need much else. If you do decide to buy a new crankshaft, there's a guy here in Wisconsin that has a small warehouse of them.

As you said it would be a good amount of money to get that old girl back to work. It’s a tough call to make. I’d love to see the videos but if you don’t do a resto on it I completely understand. Seems like it’ll need to much money and work.

I've done my share of projects, i feel like this should be parted out to keep some other model C's alive that aren't quite as rough. Find a nice d10 or d12 to fix up. Same size, same engine, but much more versitle..........just my 2 cents
