I have been collecting Gleaners since 2002 when i saved my first combine from scrap. That was the humpback A Super. Back in the winter i decided that it was time to start using the collection to show to the public doing what they were meant for. We also managed to raise £310 so far for the Carpenters Arms rehabilitation center. We are hoping to do another event next year with a more varied mix of combines. The main focus is 40s 50s and 60s combines still in they're working clothes

My uncle had the middle-aged one in your movie, and he called it the Charming Allis. The orange ones were popular here in Aotearoa (New😢Holzealand). The motor was petrol though (Ipretty sure) as the exaust manifold used to glow red at night.

Here in the usa as a boy i remember a few orange gleaners. What i remember the most is the stainless steel baldwins ,and gleaners!
@Casterton-Vintage Жыл бұрын
That's interesting. I thought all the US gleaners were galvanised rather than orange. Always learning.
@williammatzek4660 Жыл бұрын
You might be rite on the outside it may be galvanized. On the cylinder their is stainless sheet metal.

Thanks. I like to fly the drone if I can. It's not possible at many of the events but no problem at this one.

I had no idea the gleaners were orange and white over there. I am used to seeing the silver and black or just plain galvanized and black. Crazy world, love the videos.

Thanks for the positive comment. I think all UK made Gleaners had orange paint. The factory was only five miles from me but I don't remember them building combines so it's a long time ago.

For a combine that is. You certainly wouldn't want to go much faster.
