We are rebuilding a Minneapolis moline right now and went through the same thing. “CRC Evapo rust works amazing for soaking and cleaning stuff up. Great videos keep them coming

I tried some rust removing jelly on cylinders 2 and 3, because that’s what the store had, but I wasn’t happy with it. I’ll have to track down some evaporust to try. I’ve got my eye on a Minneapolis moline that I want to do next. Thanks for the support!

brilliantly done simple explanation of the parts and their purpose...lighting is a must if you plan on doing this (youtube) for more than a hobby, keep it in the back of your head for a while that you have to get the shot, not just do the work.....its a PITA. watch some of squatch253 videos for examples and tips of tractor videos done very well, if you havent already....keep em comin.

That’s been the hardest thing for me to switch gears on. The primary goal is to film, not to mechanic. I like his style the best out of the channels I watch. It’s for sure a work in progress. I’m trying to do a little better each time!

@@Tractor-Roy i will affirm that they are getting better every video....also think about intro, outro, and pacing....good examples are dieselcreek, watch wes work, farmcraft101, and pacific northwest hillbilly....you have good and likable presence, are well spoken, and have real work material, i think you could make this work if you try...also try to think of a release schedule, 1-2 videos a week, dont know how prolific you want to be, but consistency is key.

How are the bearings from the connecting rods?
@Tractor-Roy8 ай бұрын
I forgot to show that, they didn’t look too bad actually. No grooving or excessive wear

I'd just use a die grinder with a flap wheel to get rid of the rust instead of honing it
@Tractor-Roy5 ай бұрын
It probably would’ve been easier. This hone was junk anyways so it didn’t make it any worse

What rebuild kit did you get ?
@Tractor-Roy8 ай бұрын
I haven’t ordered one yet. I started thinking that I should go through the transmission to make sure it’ll work before I get the engine kit. It’ll probably be a reliance kit from Steiner, Yesterday’s Tractor, or All States Ag Parts
@maxbuechel14378 ай бұрын
@@Tractor-Roy would you put a d17 kit in it?
@Tractor-Roy8 ай бұрын
@maxbuechel1437 I’m just going with the easy to obtain 4 1/8” overbore. It’ll fit a WD45, D17, 170, and 175 block. My other WD45 runs a small square baler with stock engine just fine, and that’s all this will do. There isn’t any sled pulling around me and if I need more power I’ll just use a different tractor. I don’t want to go crazy adding power to this
