I know this video has some age on it, but first I came across it. I started steering a wd45 at the age of 4 in 1959 when my uncle would spread manure from cleaning the dairy barn. I can tell you how many hours I spent on the seat of one from cultivating, mowing hay, crimping, raking, disking. We had both a narrow front and wide front. Both were sold at farm auction after my uncle passed away a little over 15 years ago. Man would I love to have that tractor in my barn. Very nice job.

I enjoy hearing stories like this. I grew up around this tractor. It was grandpas chore tractor, and had a trip bucket loader back then. This one was always my favorite. I'm glad it got kept when he retired. He kept this one, and a JD 50 that he used to "farm" his sweet corn patch that he maintained in the old cattle yard.

Great video Jason! 😀 Thank you so much for the shoutout my friend! That truly means a lot! Those stickers look great on your tool boxes! Its incredibly exciting to see the tractor running and driving! 😀 I'm glad that you were inspired to work on the tractor after all those years of it setting. Makes me happy to see how much you enjoy the finished product. You made it better than it was off the line my friend 👍 I cant wait to see whats next 🙂👍❤

I started watching your rebuild yesterday with you pushing it into the shop and finished them today, I think I found them all. So much more time was put into the rebuild than you could show. I have an old WD 45 that I got when my dad passed. It worked a lot of ground in it's time. He would start early in the morning and I would run it into the night. It still runs but is feeling its age. I often think of a rebuild but with limited knowledge, and tools and patience I will never get it done. But it sure is nice to see one come to life. You did a great job and I enjoyed it emmensely. Thank you.

Nice job on that Allis. What primer and paint did you use? Lot of guys use the wrong persian orange. Good to see the correct color. The best way to put decals on is mix up soapy water in a squirt bottle and wet the clean surface. Lay the decal on then you can slide it around and get it perfect. Use a credit card and squeegee out the air bubbles and soapy water. I didn’t t think they would stick either but they do. This method is a lot more forgiving if you get a wrinkle or bubble, esp. on big decals. I have rebuilt my Dad’s WD-45 down to every nut and bolt. Paint is all that’s left and I hate painting. You don’t know how much fun you missed getting those brake shoe pins out. That was the worst part of the whole job.
@sparksfireandbalingwire8467
@sparksfireandbalingwire8467 4 жыл бұрын
I used an epoxy primer and single stage enamel from ag specialties. The decal set said not to use soapy water with them. I've read over and over how hard those brake pins are to remove. The tractor will never see any real hard work again, so hopefully I will never have to remove them!

@sparksfireandbalingwire8467
@sparksfireandbalingwire8467 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I have no idea on the cost or time spent. Don't really want to know, as its way more than the tractor is worth! I had a machine shop redo the valves and seats, I did the rest my self. The only things not rebuilt are the transmission, differential, and final drives. They were in good shape, so just put fresh oil in.
