Don't know how I was unaware of Mom for 6 years but as I was recuperating from illness this year I was lucky to come across all the re-runs. Janney and Faris are so believable as mother and daughter and their co-stars, especially Mimi Kennedy and Jaime Pressly, are first rate. I highly recommend it.

Mom is hilarious. I went to a taping in 2017 and she was incredibly gracious to me. I told her: “You’re gonna win the Emmy next year!” She didn’t, but she won the Oscar instead!

I have to say I don’t blame her for finding the Kiwi accent difficult, it’s notoriously difficult to get. As a Kiwi, I get it, some think we sound Australian but to our ears it’s easy to pick up differences. I couldn’t distinguish Belgium from France, Georgia from South Carolina, California from California. But I could tell where you’re from in England. Weird.

But pretty much everyone did some great work on that show. Along with Janney's regular excellence, the episodes with Mark Harmon and Matthew Modine were really good.
