From one of the best albums ever, I love what Allison does now, but it's a shame she never recorded another album in the same style as Alabama Song. Every time I put that album on I always get lost in how amazing it is. The first time I listened to this song I was thinking "great song about Alabama", then the hook of 'I just want to go with you" hit me, and I was blown away by how well crafted that line is, great song, great album!

I've seen the Florabama ceilings, tent tops, and the sky around the beach area WAY TOO MANY TIMES in the last 25 years. Slept there many a night in my younger days. Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and the Pass are nothing like they were in the 80's and early 90's. It's too crowded and there are just too many Yankees speeding through the weekends and school breaks before they have to head back north. I liked it when it was slow and easy. Shame everything has to change!

Sharon McCullough Sounds like fun back then. Trying to think of that bar that was on beach road that moved over to canal road and reopened. Use to be a bar tender there by the name of Annie. She was from Boston originally and ended up working at Craft Farms golf courses as a cart girl (or lady). Loved that accent! I didn't find Gulf Shores until the mid 80's but when I did, my wife and I bought a little condo in Orange Beach. Too old to fight it all now, however. Got the memories though....
