Since 2018, the Karyn Purvis Institute has worked in partnership with the office of the Texas Governer’s Child Sex Trafficking Team to provide Trust-based Relational Intervention®(TBRI®) training and consultation to organizations and communities that serve youth who are survivors of trafficking or who are at risk for trafficking.
Our work with this population brought us to Allison Franklin, a survivor of commercial sexual exploitation, who now uses her experience to help vulnerable women avoid and escape trafficking. Allison believes TBRI offers an escape hatch for those trapped in cycles of abuse and trafficking by teaching them better ways to connect and engage with others to build healthy, trusting relationships.
This is Allison’s story.
