I live in Chicago. It is a beautiful city, but I agree with you. It is extremely expensive. Chicago has the highest sales tax in the country, it is crazy high at 10.25%. It has excellent food and sites but actually looking into a slower pace city and a city with better weather year round. Chicago is my hometown, but change is good. Love your video Allison! Cheers 💕

I live in Fort Wayne, the second largest city in Indiana. One thing I've actually learned to love about the Midwest as I've grown up here is getting four seasons in one day. Our city is constantly buzzing, and it's surprisingly entertaining for younger people.

Love Seattle ♥️ I live in Houston and love all the variety in the city. So many great places! Since transitioning to working from home, I’m considering moving to the ‘burbs to save a little money and get a change of scenery since commuting is no longer a major consideration. P.S. your ‘mouse’ comment made me lol... that’s so me 🐭’s or 🐭 🐭 🧐

I named my dog Puget💙. He was a pug. I got him shortly after my brother died who worked at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton. 10 yrs later, after Puget died, I took my first trip back to Seattle. I stayed at The Edgewater, I booked a room on the first floor with a balcony over the water. I wanted to be as close as possible to Puget Sound. I sat on that balcony for hours everyday, taking in all the salty air. I also took the ferry to Bremerton and visited the Navy museum. There is something eerily beautiful about that Sound. It still has my heart.🖤

Loved this video. Reminded me of my trip to Seattle 2 years ago. It was my first time on a plane and I was super nervous, but the city was such a treat overall. Parking, like you say, is HORRIBLE and the meter/payment system is a pain in the a**. Thankfully, Pike Place Market, the Sound, cute little places with live music, and Piroshky Piroshky made the trip worth it!

Los Angeles born and raised in the center of the city (West Adams/Midcity). But currently living in the desert. I definitely miss all of the conveniences that the city offers..like if i want a pastrami sandwich at 2am I can totally make it happen. Entirely do not miss the parking situation or traffic. Its like a bad joke.."you know youre from LA when" someone invites you out and your decision on going is entirely based on the parking situation. Would love to visit Seattle one day!

Unrelated to this video, but you should do a video on "gift guides" or how to handle holidays for people who want to be more minimalist. love love love ♥ the city I wish and hope to visit one day....probably the first one after this crazy pandemic will be over!!!! I live near Rome, Italy in a small city on the lake, it is not far from Rome where I work in a travel agency in the city center near Pantheon and Trevi's fountain (sad time for us....) I love the views, the architecture, the historical and beautiful buildings but not the traffic....however I use a scooter instead of the car, the best solution ever!!!!!
@max420thc3 жыл бұрын
I love Italy, I wish I could visit. I would never live there though. For many reasons. Some of the little towns would be awesome but the taxes and expense is outrageous, everything in the US as far as shopping is only about the third the price of Italy. 1.90 a gallon for gas(3.8 liters) Or 45 -50 cents a liter. Just a example. Pair of Tommy Hilfiger jeans, 30 dollars, Italy 100 dollars. Just a couple of examples.
@mariazak373 жыл бұрын
@@max420thc correct, exactly the taxes are scandalous for not having exactly all the perfectly functioning services like a nation belonging to the g20 should have! however we have a very precious thing that is worth part of the taxes: good public health, unlike in the US. On both sides, much, much more could be done and I hope that we will be able to perfect ourselves for a better life accessible to all!
@max420thc3 жыл бұрын
Government is not the solution. It is the problem. I am currently in a 2nd world country, former Soviet country. The same system the leftists seem to want in the US, I am here for the healthcare because of government interference and government monopolies in the US it has driven our healthcare system that has become more of a money system and has nothing to do with healthcare to be too expensive to afford. I get frustrated hearing people talk about socialism and communism like it is some sort of great thing. Socialism is the economic system of communism, much the same as capitalism is the economic system of free people, The ultimate evil, the ultimate lie , the ultimate corruption is socialism/ communism. It never works out like the sales pitch believe me. Capitalism with all of its flaws is still better than any system in the world and America is trying to lose that. Communist all seem to think if the government gives you something it is free. No, in order to give you something they must first take it from someone else. This is why the west coast is collapsing. In the country I am in, like many I have been in there is a handful of extremely wealthy people and everyone else is poor and lives on around 5 dollars a day. If you need open heart surgery the free surgery is still going to cost you 3000 dollars, much less than the 100000 in the US but still completely out of reach for the average person here. Thanks to their socialized medicine. The average life expectancy is around 54 for a man and not much longer for most women, you see very few older people here. The stress of living a life without hope, without money or knowing where you will get your next meal from takes it toll on these poor people. I see the same policies in the democrat party that has corrupted and destroyed these people here. Same as Venezuela. They are collapsing and destroying these small businesses on purpose. The game they are playing is nothing new in the world at all. What they fail to understand is how mad people are right now and communists have never tried what they are trying in a place like the US with 400 million guns. This is not going to end well for anyone. But do remember who caused it and where it is coming from. We like to call it the deep state, or corrupt government. No matter who’s elected the government is on auto self destruct. It’s only a matter of time now. The people who feed the poor, you may or may not believe this are the small businesses who are mostly republicans ,conservatives, they supply the bulk of the food to the food banks, the other entity that provides much of the food to the poor are also conservative republicans church goers. Each of these church’s every Sunday collects food for the poor. Both of these entities have been bankrupted by the communists while they dine and eat at the fanciest restaurants while starving their populations while they laugh about it. None of it is accident. These same people control the media and everything you see and hear controlling your thought and your information. It’s all a lie. Because these communists, they are not democrats have destroyed these businesses and churches they will have left the poor no alternative but to start becoming more and more violent. You see that guy at church who is a nice guy? He normally elserved in your military, he has killed people for his country and suffered much for his country. When he comes home he just wants left alone mostly and to go about his life. Well your not leaving them alone. He will have no choice soon but to pick up his gun again.

The only Seattle specific content you provided is cherry st coffee and wsdot ferry recommendations. My last vacation was actually flying to Seattle and taking the Amtrak train to and from Vancouver (in February). The flights were super cheap so it was kind of a last-minute decision and ended up being the last bit of "normal" life before everything changed. We stayed in both Belltown and Pioneer Square and it was so much fun! But it's sad to see that a bunch of the restaurants and places we visited are permanently closed. I had wanted to go to the Cinerama and it was being renovated at the time...who knows if/when it will reopen, ugh. I'm from Chicago so Seattle actually feels cozier than a "big city" to me, but it's all relative :)
