I’M FINALLY BACK IN JAPANNNN!!! Also, because I know I’ll get questions… 1. No, Japan is not open to tourists currently and most new visa holders can’t get in right now either. I’m a resident and have been since pre-illness time 2. I know my voice sounds awful it’s because I got no sleep the night before my flight ok I’m not sick here 😭 3. There was a lot of paperwork stress beforehand regarding the test requirements, which I didn’t go into in this video because it was very hectic and I don’t want to relive it lmao. But you are required to get a very strict form filled out and take a specific (expensive, hard to find) test within 72 hours 😅 4. I didn’t take much footage at the airport in Japan because you weren’t allowed to in most places (I’m not trying to immediately get deported lmao) and I was pushing around a heavy bag srry 5. I DONT KNOW WHEN JAPAN WILL REOPEN IM SORRYYYY HOPEFULLY THIS YEAR!!!!

Hi, I'm curious and hope you can answer. When you say you're a resident, does that mean you have an equivalent of a US green card? ie. Legal resident. Or do you just have a student visa and a permanent resident address? Thanks! Glad you made it back safely!

@@flacaloca I don't think the US system and Japanese system are that similar...though honestly I don't know much about the US one. I'm a student but also a legal resident! Basically anyone with a work or student visa is. I don't have all the rights of a citizen or anything but most things are pretty equal usually 😇

Yeah you made it back!!! I’m so happy for you cause I can only imagine who stressful this whole ordeal must have been. Thanks for sharing your quarantine experience with us. I just ended my quarantine yesterday and although I was in my own apartment, spending 17 days 24 hours at home and not being aloud to go at least for a walk alone, was a nightmare for me. Now I know how all those animals in the zoo must feel because I also walked back and forth in my apartment. How did you feel not being able to get outside getting some fresh air? I hope this whole nightmare ends for all of us soon!

Oof, quarantine. Glad your hotel was nice! It's really good that you can get deliveries, I haven't seen that in other quarantine videos. It seems like you sped up the text screens in this video? I'm dyslexic and my reading speed is very slow, but this was the first video of yours where I had to pause the text screens or rewind in order to read them. I loved not having to do that before, but I appreciate that your editing style will be ever-changing.

I hope quarantine goes as best as possible, it seems very dull. When I saw that they delivered you the meal I thought about food allergies. I have tons of food allergies since I was very little, new ones keep coming, and I know for me that situation would be very distresful 😬. So you had to fill some kind of questionnaire, right? Anyway, as in your case, food allergies are always a mess to deal with, and people easily get it wrong. Thank god you can order online, that would save me tbh. I send you energy and good vibes :)
@AllisoninTokyo2 жыл бұрын
thank you!! yes, you’re able to tell them though how often they’ll get it right is another story 😅 but yes, since you can order online you won’t starve!

I saw another KZbinr, Tokyo Lens who had to stay in a hotel for quarantine. It was not a nice hotel at all according to him. However a family member who is Japanese and was born and grew up there went back and had to quarantine said her hotel was at least a 4 star hotel and it was really nice. We joked that she got a nice hotel because she is a citizen and the government was treating her better.

Hi did you stay 6 days at hotel because you already have an apartment there ?
@AllisoninTokyo2 жыл бұрын
Japan has rules for hotel quarantine depending on what state/country you're flying in from, so for Florida I had to stay here 6 days and then the remaining 4 days can be wherever I want (so my apartment, but if I didn't have one I'd have to go to a different hotel or something) 🦔
