In our area if you buy your own toilet it is approx $300.00 for labour. If they provide a toilet between $600.-$800.00

My husband is a plumber and he said that you were definitely overcharged for the toilet install, but a few other factors to note are that there are few plumbers left in the industry and they may feel that they can hike up prices because of the demand. Also, with how old your house is, the work involved may be pretty extensive and require more specialty work and parts when you do start renovations. I’m so sorry that happened. Hoping for smooth sailing moving forward!

Hurrah! We just finished one year of ownership of our little place in Paducah Kentucky. Our house needed to be brought up to a more current standard. (1989 modular home with floral striped wallboards & yellowed fixtures in the bathrooms 🤢) We just had a remodel done on our master suite - definitely more up to date and better for seniors! The Realtor welcome home gift is common - I was surprised when our realtor here in Paducah gave us a small gift as a thank you. It's unheard of where we came from (CA). I love the courtesies and friendly ness of folks out here. It is missing in a lot of the west where I grew up.

A house my parents own have 2 brick chimneys and we were quoted $10-12k each to get them serviceable again....we were like at that price we could get a new one built. 😳

Allison, I am so sorry you got scammed! We own a service and the work you described is in the $300 range-NOT $1300! It is disgusting that people take advantage of new buyers. Please report the company. I would check with your Realtor possibly before hiring another service.

I love your energy toward your new home but don't overdue you have precious cargo. Just one question and I mean this sincerely I have not used bar keepers friend before how does it differ from comet. I have seen different people use bar keepers friend on glass top stoves but I have been told never to use comet on the stove. Please can you tell me the difference. have a great week

I like the comet because it's powder bleach basically. It can sanitize whatever you clean with it. I like bar keepers friend specifically for steel or metal products. It'll make your pots & pans shiny and new or it can be really helpful for tough stains!
