Eli Sharabi was kidnapped from his home in Bari - from where his brother Yossi was also kidnapped, and his body is still being held in Gaza. Eli's wife and two daughters were murdered in their home on a kibbutz. The Sharabi family did not stop fighting to bring their two sons home, even after it was learned that Yossi had been murdered in captivity. Today they finally got to hug Eli.

This may be a blessing that he didn't know. Getting back to his family may have been the thing that gave him the will to keep going during his captivity. It also allows him to start the grieving process surrounded by loved ones and professionals who can help him rather than suffering with the knowledge for 490 days.
