Thanks for showing the garlic, I've always wanted to know what would happen if I just left it in the ground. 🍃

I tend to thin my potato onions as they grow, eating them all spring and summer, leaving just three or four per clump. The remaining onions can grow much larger, and even store well.

Another great video highlighting fantastic perennial vegetables. I was impressed with my first Elephant garlic and Oerprei harvest a few weeks ago. They weren't all as big as yours, but I was delighted, and next year hopefully they will be. I also enjoyed a couple of Oerprei videos on Jason's Jungle channel. Everyone should have Egyptian Walking Onions 🌰

Thanks a mill! We planted into a dig bed with 1 year old compost last Sept/October. Jason's Jungle is great! He started us off with Oerprei bulbs :D

Walking Onions are awesome. Mine have survived extreme cold, droughts and even competes against weeds. I like replanting some of the bulbils in rows for green onions in early spring summer, leaving the mother clump alone. I'm going to try Potato Onions this year. But my favorite for storage and winter use, is Red Sun Shallots, which can attain the size of a regular onion and keep from fall til spring, whereby they are replanted.

Thanks a mill! Great fig videos you've got lately. I haven't had much luck with propagating the, even though i did the cuttings in spring just before bud break. Any tips from semi-hardwood?

@@GardensforLife thanks. I usually start my cuttings in pots, tops wrapped with grafting tape, and bottom heat. Just have to watch out for fungus gnats!

My Egyptian onions aren't looking healthy. The leaves have maybe died back? Or Could something be eating the leaves? On those plants there are no air bulbs.
@GardensforLife
@GardensforLife Жыл бұрын
They do that sometimes, i would simply feed / mulch them with compost and wait for another year. They can be slow to take off. Ours took a full year to start producing aerial bulbs and they will keep going year after year now...hopefully :D

Do you ship to the United States?
@GardensforLife
@GardensforLife 9 ай бұрын
Yes we do ship to the US, however please be advised that the risk of the tubers spending a long time in the post or customs taking them would be on you. We only ship outside of Europe because we have been receiving numerous requests from the US.
