Yes it is correct but the effect is very small but as we use screw gauge of even smaller least count then that error will also come into picture otherwise it not a serious issue for our lab experiments.

A screw doesn't remain of the same length and pitch if temperature increases. So it gives birth to an error. The effect become dominant for more accurate screw gauges.
