13:11 for remounts, you don't use your courage, you use your remount value, bc in TY, unlike FoW, the card shows values for every stat, whereas in FoW, you only use the basic 2 ones, if there is no other modifiers like protected ammo etc.

Great batrep! Always good to see TY and I really like the sound of that brit vs east German game, should you go ahead (which you totally should). Game wise, I wasn't convinced about Mark's aggressive maneuvering at the start but having watched the full batrep, happy to be wrong and have learned a thing or two in the process (AA range consideration and TOW min range. ) Well played chaps.

whats with all the tank clumps ?
@markfrancis89782 жыл бұрын
The rules seem to encourage more than discourage tanks clumping together. Believe it or not, it never seems as much as an issue when playing the game, but I totally respect the issue viewing the game (I'm not a fan of tank car parks either). It's one of the reasons why I don't play spammy hordes, it hurts my eyes to see everything bumper to bumper. However, sometimes you just have to maximize your shots and that means utilizing gaps in terrain to improve chances to hit and not self limiting your shots for aesthetics.
@Airwolf5152 жыл бұрын
Good battle report. Luckily, the Harriers were worth the points in this scenario. However, at approx. 1:03:00, the Harrier probably could not have shot at the remaining 3 bailed out Shilka tanks due to "Danger Close" rule. The LAVs appeared well within 8" of Shilkas.

@markfrancis89782 жыл бұрын
I’m just not sold on them. You’re just paying for range, which is generally not too much of an issue. AT is basically the same over 16”, so I’d rather just stick with the 120mm gun and use points elsewhere
@Grendel692 жыл бұрын
@@markfrancis8978 That's fair, I run a lot more spammy lists and have my 64's sit back a good bit while T55's or 62's are soaking. pretty typical I know, but it's undeniably fun.

i think the USMC formations really are just good for the LAV company, the M-60s are kinda a downgrade from the army version, but the leadership advantage doesnt make up for the downgrade

@@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall the LAV formation makes for a great allied unit. My West German Lüchs Aufklärung was a go to for me, but the LAV formation, for a few points more, brings bigger platoons (4 v 2), a better gun, and AT in the form of Hammerhead havin AT23, versus a bunch of AT19 havin Leo1. Plus it can bring a two gun mortar for smoke/padding.

I was very frustrated that you never used bombs with your Harriers. It wasn't until near the end when you talked about their skill rating and I looked up their car that I understood why you kept firing the guns. Nice production values as always. In an objective based game strange that John, an apparently seasoned Flames player, left a poor unit to hold the objectives? That's what gave the game away to Shaun, why you didn't reinforce the position with your M109 platoon, you also would perhaps have had some defensive fire against two assaults. Not a lover of Team Yankee. NorthAG/CentAG and Seven Days to the Rhine are significantly better games.
@AllMiniaturesGreatandSmall Жыл бұрын
I noticed that once turn 1 started that the Infantry Platoon really can't harm the T-80s short of driving them off in assaults. In hindsight having the M109s drive there would have been helpful. My first M60 platoon was also poorly placed to contribute after their initial attack. The should have made it over to that objective as well. Thanks for the comments!
