You can. It is a farce. Its literally a really good version of a traditional farce. You can see one in nearly any amateur theatre hall any saturday of the sodding year.
@fromomelastocarcosa35755 жыл бұрын
@@MrsHyde92 Peep show had an episode where a man killed and ate a dog. Derry Girls had a teenage girl trying to run away with a priest. Allo Allo reruns all the time. Bedroom farces are a staple of British amateur dramatics to this day. What are you even talking about here?
@RenaissanceEarCandy4 жыл бұрын
The loss of freedom of speech is a right wing myth. If it weren't like that, do you really think Frankie Boyle would be allowed on national television? Do you really think David Mitchell and Robert Webb would have been able to broadcast episodes of the Peep Show in which a dog was eaten and Nazi uniforms were used? To suggest that the UK doesn't have freedom of speech is absolute weapons grade bollocks. If you get fined or put in prison for speaking your mind, then and only then do you lack freedom of speech. And literally no one in history has ever been offended by Allo Allo. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom to say what you like without being criticised by others.

It brings a new meaning to ‘situation comedy’, doesn’t it? Sometimes I can’t get enough air from all the laughter when watching this series. The situations were always outrageous and far from reality but they were always in good taste and never really became annoying (like so many today’s comedies), partly due to the incredible cast that made the situation believable and partly due to the brilliant writing. It’s really quite amazing what they’ve accomplished and it holds a special place in my heart.
@thomasfrench20124 жыл бұрын
I agree with everyone else, it doesn't matter how often I see this scene, I always end up hurting from laughing so hard. And it is clear that Gordon Kaye was right there with us, as he was choking back the laughter as well.

@@mattswiercz6995 Not necessarily. A series 4 episode states it is in 1941 and the first couple of series didn't have many time skips so it is very possible that it is not long after the Eastern Front opened. What's unlikely is how cold Grüber would have been considering that he must have been part of the initial invasion and the front opened up in summer.
