Why do we need to use buddy and slab allocation for kernel? Why not use the same methods as contiguous and non contiguous memory allocation methods? And vice verse?

1) we need contiguous allocation of memory for some devices which directly interact with physical memory e.g. GPU(means cannot use paging) 2) there should not be fragmentation (means no static or dyanamic allocation)
