Possibly could have broken the beads on the tyres by the old trick of carefully driving over the tyre flat on the ground. Bit surprised you didn't cut the valves off to save masking, etc, since usually changed when new tyres fitted anyway.

Really miss my VTR. There are two sizes of stud holes for the VTR wheels. The phase 2 ones are bigger than the phase 1.
