I've recently ordered this radiator. You mention in the video you need some new bolts/screws to hold for the shroud and fan. 2x M6 12mm for shroud and 1x M6 5mm for fan.... is that 5mm a typo? I am also glad I read these comments as I see another part I'll need is a different radiator cap. Great video and it would also be helpful for your viewers to see a list of extra parts/considerations in your description. Add the extra screws and rad cap. Thanks for the video, it's the only one I've found for this radiator and xterra

Good idea ! what rad cap you ened up using ? as I kept the one it came with as I just simply hit the hood little and it it fit as for the bots No the m6 is 5mm long very short bolt .

@@DIY_AUTO_PHOTO thanks for the reply. I ordered the Gates 31527 radiator cap based on the suggestions here in the comments. When it comes in I'll reply and let you know if it fits. So although the other commenter didn't elaborate I believe the issue is actually the PSI handing. The cap that comes with the radiator says 19PSI. The OEM cap and replacements max at 16PSI. I don't know how bad things could really get... but I figure a $5 new cap is worth it over blowing seals etc if there ever is a temperature issue

Just got the same radiator in the spring. FYI the cap that came with mine is incorrect on these trucks, just take a look at your stock cap to see what I mean. And because the new rad uses the bigger cap you cannot swap it, won’t fit. You need a Gates part number 31571 or motorad T3. I let alloyworks know about this at the time but looks like they haven’t changed them???

Thank you very much! what do you mean ? 2 and 3 radiator ? the one I just had and the one I just installed ? if so.. the 3rd one is fully aluminum , its bigger its all welded so there is much less chance of leak.. it has better cooling performance as well and hell it just looks why better as well ))

Mine is 2010 with 120,000 miles. I just had my radiator fluid and all my other fluids completely changed. Do I need to worry about milkshake if death?

If its original radiator.. with that many miles I still be worried.. I mean.. the transmission to fix is always way way more expensive then this

When you burp the system on the ramps, do you have the radiator cap opened?

How much did your temps improve with this radiator compared to your Koyorad? I'm VK swapped with a koyo currently. Idle temps around 188-193. 65mpg on the hwy is generally around 195-200.

Hey I think it will be a great improvement for sure ! I am still will be doing more tests but as of now I can see that my temps are an average somewhere between 15- 20 lower for both on arrange for engine cooling and trans temp I think its pretty good Nice man Vk swap is soo cool!! I wish one day I can do that too . did you do it yourself ?
