Is there a difference between using the cradle to calibrate and hooking the monitor directly to a gas cylinder?

Practically speaking, the quality of the calibration will be similar. On its own, the AutoRAE cradle is easier for most people to use, it tests the visual and audible alarms, and potentially conserves cal gas. Adding controller allows for bump tests and calibrations to be logged automatically, among some other more advanced functions.
