I don't think you know what I mean by tying down the strings. When recording, most (not all) guitarists will use a towel or a stretchy piece of material on the fretboard or on the strings itself normally near or on the headstock to reduce or remove excess hum. Even someone as amazing as Chris Storey did it (you can search for the recording of Black Gold Reign). So it's not a case of using the strings... it's a case of Francesco being such a clean player that he doesn't need it. So max respect.

Guitarists only really do that when you are doing complex sweep techniques and you can't/don't want to bother muting the strings as you complete the sweep since your fingers and palm are usually occupied. Respect to Artusato for being able to do it without for sure, but most guitarists dont do if they aren't sweep picking.
