Nice review, what was the height and weight of your son when you got this kit? My son is 5', 125lbs and his current samurai youth set is getting snug.

He was about 5’, maybe a little over and a little under 100lbs. He grew about 4” in the last year. I think the minimum ideal height for the intermediate size is 5’2”, depending on body proportions. The biggest challenge for us was keeping the leg guard straps snug around the knee-savers which is why I modded with different clasps. When he sat back on them, they compressed and the straps got loose. At 125’ lbs, I doubt your son will have the same problem. Even at 5’4”, the chest protector is still a little long, but I won’t have to buy another for at least a couple of years. Unless you go custom, most brands that I know of have youth, intermediate and adult sizes. When in-between, you make do. The All-Star gear is really nice and also not cheap.

Does he still fit in this gear? My son is 15 and is 5'9 and 155 and I'm wondering if this is the right size for him? Thanks@@T2Baseball

@lennyperry536 It still fits, but he’s 5’ 5”. I think it might fit 5’9”. As long as his height isn’t disproportionately is his legs or torso it would likely fit. It’s a high end set, so he should really try it on first. Maybe look for a shop doing a demo day.

Yes, the S7 Axis Series comes in three sizes: 9-12, 12-16 and Adult. They make gear for T-Ball and for 7-9, but not in this series.
