Been a while since I've heard some good melodic dubstep! The middle part is very reminiscent of Seven Lion's "Island" track and I can see this being rather polarizing. But I like how the second drop was juxtaposed in, with the back and forth between the "heavy" and "melodic" parts. I don't particularly like heavy dubstep, but this combination works for me. Looking forward to seeing more from ALLTALE

This was a REALLY good song until 1:55. The vocals, the ambiance, the cinematic build up, the melody, everything was spot on. But after the hard dubstep drop, it quickly became painful to listen to. Now this is mostly just personal preference but I felt kinda back-stabbed at that moment because this isn't the first time I've seen a really, really good melodic dubstep piece ruined by adding a hard dubstep drop. Remember "Island (Feat. Nevve)" by Seven Lions, Wooli, and Trivecta? That song suffered from the same exact issue. Heavenly melodic dubstep that was absolutely laid to waste by Wooli's drop. Luckily, Arctic uploaded the WM Edit (now called the MIZZIO Edit?) to it at kzbin.info/www/bejne/lXbRaIqIoN2Vn7M which was great for melodic dubstep fans everywhere (seriously, bless the person/people who made that edit, and to Arctic for uploading it). Let's hope we'll get a similar edit/remix to this song (I'm not going to call it a "fix" since that would be inconsiderate to the artist's original intentions which, even though I don't like, I'll respect). Still gave this video a like since the rest of the song was amazing and I'd love to hear more music from ALLTALE (and Alexxi) regardless of the drop. S/He seems to be new and IMHO has a lot of potential. P.S. I'm sorry in advance if the review sounded kinda high-handed - I don't mean to put anyone down here. I just want to clearly and explicitly share my OPINION of this piece since I feel strongly enough about it. ALLTALE, you did great! Thanks for sharing your music! Also, thanks to Arctic for being a singular source for great songs like this!

Hey! I really appreciate your outlook and opinion on the track. I've gotten this feedback from a few people and I definitely understand where it's coming from. There was a purpose with the heavy drop, as the contrast was part of the story Alexxi and I were telling. I've been toying with the idea of making a melodic VIP of this track that I think a lot of people would enjoy :) however, I have loads of melodic stuff on the way that I'm sure you'll really enjoy, and the heavy stuff is more of a tool for my story-telling rather than my style. But yeah, thank you for the honesty dude and I hope to see you more :)

@@alltale5033 Honestly as a producer, don't listen to the hate from people who don't like heavy dubstep. Plenty of people including myself love heavy dub and if it was really "painful to listen to" it wouldn't be played on big stages. Brilliant track my dude keep up the good work.

@@dakotawhelchel8821 Hey Dakota! I'm really glad you like the track :) I definitely agree with you, I think I was just trying to convey how I used it as a tool of storytelling. I definitely think that because dubstep has the whole reputation of being a "banger only genre", it can be misunderstood as a way of telling a story which is what all of my music is focused on. I also just enjoy musical conversation, especially when the person is respectful. I appreciate you :) I hope you enjoy what else I have to offer!

I 100% agree with what Dakota is saying. Just because a few people don' t like something, doesn't mean that everyone won't like it. It's why so many musical genres exist in the first place. I just wanted to share my opinion. Also, I didn't realize that the change in style mid-song was used for story telling. It's an interesting idea, I'll have to listen to the song a few more times to try and properly understand it. Thanks for the insight!
