The only time I worried about Tua is when he started throwing high on a lot of throws to Waddle and Hill last year. Speed doesn’t matter much if they have to leave their feet to catch the ball. I am glad it looks like he is hitting them more in stride again this year.

Excellent breakdown and yes, Tua is a star. I did think he was a tad late on a few 1st half throws tho. I also think that early overthrow to Reek was forced due to pressure coming from the LT. Still can make that play, but it did effect it. Also, screen setup for Smith (TE) early on could have went to the house if he caught it in stride...

So refreshing to see someone who understands the quarterback position and Tua’s play and tear down all the bad narratives about him. Of course he’s not perfect but he’s way better than what most would say about him in the media. Keep them coming! FinsUp!
@haji1096Ай бұрын
Tua was a 7/10, but in the past he probably gets down on himself because things aren’t going well. Instead he lifted the team. His decision making was good. The only glaring bad decision was taking a sack that led to a missed FG opportunity. The missed throws are execution but good decisions. He was able to make the plays the team needed without accepting high turnover risk. [8:16 AM] The emotional stability is an important development. He played a mature game
@KB21-kt7ugАй бұрын
I give no demerits to Tua for the 3rd &15 sack he took. In fact, I was impressed that he was able to realize that on his backside his first round RT was getting jacked up off his feet on the DEs inside move, run straight back towards him like his blindside protector was a balloon person and then figured the DE was too tied up to pursue him if he reverse pivoted, not accounting for AJ completing the trifecta of getting thrown into Tua's legs (which reminds us of why our passing game is so quick and limited).
@popcornblast5348Ай бұрын
Couldn’t have stepped up since Allen was getting ready to shed inside on the left if Tua did step up, if there wasn’t that much pressure Tua wouldn’t seen the backside Smirh route underneath or Tyreeks bender coming open against the C2 side

Here’s what the narratives from the so called experts do not understand about Tua and the hi level skill. On throws, The measurement of speed from Tua, relative to depth of target, combined with hyper accuracy, all done faster than anyone in the game from drop to release, is unprecedented.

Loved the 3:58 no arm talent comment. 😉Seriously though, I think another unappreciated Tua trait is that he improves every year. This year, he’s definitely more mobile than last, and might also have a bit more zip on his throws. I also believe that going to the second read was something they worked on. Oh and he’s not bad in commercials either.😉

I'm 54 and have been watching since the likes of Montana and Marino in the 80's and Tua is the best PASSER i have seen. What he has been able to do since entering the league playing behind one of the worst (usually 32nd ranked) pass blocking O-Line has never been done. No QB in history has ever been as accurate or efficient as Tua playing behind such a poor pass blocking O-Line in football history. How he led the league in passing last season, finishing top 5 in every single passing stat with Injuries at RB, Center, LG and Tackle as well as Waddle in and out of the lineup hurt and Tyreek playing last few games with a bad ankle is mind boggling to anyone who knows football. After early season injuries to their starting LG and C that sent them to season ending IR, MIami's O-Line ranked 31st in Pass Block win rate and yet Tua still found a way to finish top 5 in passer rating as well as every other passing stat. The ONE thing Tua needs to work on is when things break down, and they often do when playing behind a Line that has no guards, he has to find a way to make chicken salad out of chicken shit the same way guys like Mahommes are able to do. I think this was a big reason for the weight loss. So he could be more nimble and quick to escape the pressure and roll out and make plays this season.

I've enjoyed your critique but as always learned a little more about why it is so easy for SMART teams to shut the Dolphins' offense down. The LB lining up two-point as the LDT and then dropping in a sweeping motion took away both slant routes. The slowest guy on your team can take away the Tua/Tyreek/Waddle bread and butter play.

On the 4th down throw, where the receiver was hit with the ball, was right at the 1st down mark. I think the hitch where he reset was because he was well short of the 1st down. He mostly likely would have been tackled well short of making the first. If thus was a 1nd down play, I'm sure Tua hits him earlier.
@KB21-kt7ugАй бұрын
On the 4th down play, it appears your point about defenders thinking screen is valid because the outside cover man up top doesn't flip his hips til Achane is even with him at the 35 on a go route and the Safety on that half sprints into the shallow, middle slant zone immediately. I'm assuming since Tua is late he wanted to get a better peak at what might be happening with the shot at the bigger play. When you have a 4.3 receiver even with a CB who isn't fully opened up and in retreat, that's a win so I'm puzzled as to why Tua, who has good protection, doesn't make sure all is good to take a step up, let Achane clear and then lead him with a soft, higher arching touch pass for the A-Train to run underneath and score on. Tua has great anticipati9n on bullet passes but seems to shy away from anticipating and letting go of higher, floating passes that need to be feathered in. Except for the fact that Achane, who has a walk-in TD 8n the waiting, just stops because the play design obviously doesn't leave open the option to hit Achane if the defense gives him a free run? These are the things I hate about this 1/2 brained offense. Tua has great anticipation on bullet passes but seems to shy away from anticipating and letting go of higher, floating passes that need to be feathered in so I think McDan helps him eliminate the poss8bilities of Tua having to throw them. Tua should have hit that deep shot? My grandma, coming back from the kitchen, dropped her bowl of soup when he missed Tyreek and kicked the bowl across the room hitting the blinds in from of the sliding door 3/4 of the way up dead center.

First time seeing you. I need to create a control system on you to learn your evaluation process. Play #1 is a -2 yard hitch from their own 15. You favor this call as, at worst, you move up a few yards to punt. Spread out defense with two immediate blockers for Achane puts him in situation to only have to beat one unblocked guy in open space. Makes sense. Dolphins fan take on play#2, roll out left. Unless DE bites hard in and allows Tua free reign rolling, this isn't just a Tua weakness, he has a higher propensity to throw erratically and dangerously but in his year five, I guess still better than trusting/risking O line to form a protective pocket to throw from. Couldn't Tua pause after the fake, sucker the DE in a bit morek allow the LT, who does nothing at all, to pull back and sprint backto either unload on the incoming LB or just lead Tua and pick up the first threat to the QB? 1

Had the offense stayed on field longer in 2nd half this post doesn't happen. I am both a Jags and Dolphan but call it as it is, not how you want it to be be. @verbalkint4052Ай бұрын
Speaking of “calling it as it is” and “not how you want it to be”, YOU couldn’t be more wrong. Par for the course for those that push their POV as the real truth. Lmao. The Dolphins “took” the game, thus they “won it”. Take off the blinders, dude. The Dolphins did what the likes of the Patriots (during their heyday) and Chiefs typically do when they get behind and face adversity. They make things happen. Holland made something happen when he punched the ball out near the goal line. Then Tua and Tyreek immediately took advantage with the big play. That’s what good teams do. They take advantage of and capitalize on mistakes, especially when it matters most. And the defense shut out the Jags in the 2nd half. Stop with the excuses. Just because a team leads at half doesn’t mean they are “entitled” to the win the game thus your “they lost it more than the opponent won it” view is complete trash and not calling it as it is but rather how YOU want it to be. Heed your own words. Every game is at least 4 quarters. And the Jags didn’t score during the final 2 quarters. Their opponent, on the other hand, scored 17 points. Which is why they won. Circling back to Tua, he didn’t play one of his better games but that doesn’t mean he was bad. You have a 26 minute video presented by someone that understands QB play a lot better than you demonstrating just that. Yet somehow you know better? GTFOH. Tua stepped up and made lots of good throws against a good defense on a day when things didn’t go perfectly. Most importantly - his team won. Because they did just enough to get it done. There’s the real truth.
