@@AllThingsSecured Microsoft used to have, what many thought, were built in backdoors. Something the government wanted. Microsoft probably removed it, as they lost a $10 Billion military government contract, and Amazon picked up a $10 Billion NSA government contract.

I think its similar to what google does you get a free account with google with email and even cloud storage but in trade you give them your data and with amazon i think its the same now how to reconcile prime users that pay i dont really know but i think nothing is free if it is something else is paying for it in this case your data, i think its the same way with social media accounts it would be nice to see the government crack down a bit more on this though

You can pay your balance down to maybe 5% on the prime card and stop using them, while maintaining your maybe 8,000.00 credit limit to help keep your utilization rate low across your entire credit portfolio. That's the ticket for the serious.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing the info. Personally I really like Amazon. Where else can you get the most obscure items delivered to your door generally the next day. I know internet shopping has decimated the high street and a lot of local businesses so I do try to shop locally if possible but the service I get from Amazon has always been great. I’ve stopped using Google Chrome and I’d switch from Amazon if there was a better alternative. Thanks again for putting out this information at least we can make an informed choice when we understand what is actually happening in the background. I have two Echo devices as well!
@AllThingsSecured3 жыл бұрын
This is a perfect response, Laika, thank you! The point here isn’t “Amazon is evil”, it’s simply to understand what is happening so you can make an informed decision about how you use the internet, shop for things, and protect your data.

With companies that say we dont sell your info i take that with a grain of salt. I think you talked about privacy policies before Josh and its funny how they tend to word things becuase though they say they dont but later in most privacy policies of retailers like Amazon always have this thing that says “ we may share your info with third parties or affiliates “ and its those third parties that are the real trouble makers because Amazon is not lying they are not selling our info directly but those third parties well….

I'm not sure if you have time to answer my question. I cannot find the answer anywhere! I don't feel comfortable accessing amazon via the app so I go there via my mobile browser directly to the site. I am trying to remove the recommendations they put on my homepage based on my purchases but nothing I have searched online is working. I went to the browsing history option and managed to find how to turn it off on Amazon. ButvI don't think that has anything to do with them sending me recommendations as that is linked to all of the items I purchased as everything is listed on the recommendations list. I searched again and it said to go to recommendations list and that brings me to a page of all items I have already purchased. Then you are supposed to click on one item and an option appears to click on to remove one recommended item from my list at a time but not an option to remove them all at once. I am so confused. Do you know how to stop Amazon from putting recommendations on my homepage? Thanks

Shop using Qubes OS.
@AllThingsSecured3 жыл бұрын
Ive never heard of that one. What makes it so good?
@NoEgg4u3 жыл бұрын
@@AllThingsSecured When used properly, Qubes will compartmentalize your all of your computer activities, with security being its top priority. It allows you to run your computer, as if it is any number if independent computers, keeping "this" activity from knowing anything about "that" activity (assuming you want those two activities to not see each other). You are limited only by the amount of CPU and memory in your computer, as to how many independent activities you can launch. The OS color-codes the windows, to help you keep track of what is what. It uses virtualization, and locks down the host's OS to keep iron-clad control over all virtual machines. It is not a VirtualBox type environment, although both use virtualization. My description is not giving the OS justice. It is an amazing feat of technical engineering. This video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZOxZnWwaNtgq6M ...will give you a very good view into how amazing Qubes is. Be forewarned: I suspect that after watching the above video, you will want to run Qubes. To speed things along, I recommend that you watch the video at 1.5x normal speed (even 1.75 works well), via youtube's "Playback speed" under the "Settings" icon in the lower right-hand side of the video's playback. Enjoy!
@aaronboggs57992 жыл бұрын
Edward Snowden publicly endorsed Qubes back in 2016, so that certainly says something about it. I don't use it personally, but do use the Multi Account Containers extension in Firefox, which sandboxes my browser data based on how I configure it - e.g., separate containers for work, personal, shopping, social media, banking, etc. I find it a nice compromise, and honestly pretty seamless once configured.

5:18 Just had a look when you said I was not aware that Amazon took so many permissions and is in a race to take control over our mobile device Thankfully, I didn't have any of the permission allowed The two that were allowed are : 1. Style Snap : which uses our photos to help us find our outfit inspiration Look how caring Amazon is 🤣🤣🤣🤣 2. WhatsApp Image Share : This one is horrifying it states that we store the item or product images that you share with Whatsapp I immediately turned all of them off

@@AllThingsSecured Ok put it this way. You know that facebook let you recover your account after you "delate it", plus why would a company that focus so much on gathering your data want to delate it in the first place. They can still use that data on other things they own, or will own in the future.
