Other than the PMD I started thinking about the value of this box….since it’s $70…and I just don’t think you can make it worth while since PMDs are so cheap through everyone’s shops… FFF or Ipsy…etc. so now, it’s losing its value too!

I wish all these companies would stop calling it. “vegan leather” cCall it vinyl, plastic, or whatever other thing you want to call it. I’m a vegetarian and calling anything “vegan leather”makes me crazy It’s not leather! But then again, calling anything plastic makes those same people feel terrible because it’s a petroleum product

I have had tons of "vegan" leather clothes and bags that I've had to get rid of after a few years because they start falling apart. I have real leather bags that are over 20 years old that are still fine. I'm really trying not to buy "vegan" leather anymore no matter how cute the thing is.

Thanks Kathrin for bringing up FFF. Uggg what mess. I let mine expire because we were moving. I missed fall and winter. I was going to rejoin after the move but then all this. You can't be toooo negative about Alltrue. I lost at least $350 from them when they went bankrupt. The 1st of the month they went under, they auto renewed my sub. Then, I had placed two large marketplace orders, which I didn't get, so it was probably more money than that. I get so angry just thinking about it. I have the bamboo set and the PMD. The rest was basically junk. A plastic reed bottle that will fall over, I don't think so. I have refilled a pretty bottle that has finished with new oil and reeds, so maybe that could be a solution.Take care!!!❤

Your Alltrue videos make me laugh! And OMG the bamboo serving set - I got that in one of my very first Causebox boxes so many years ago. I can't believe they still have those sitting around. It really is so unethical ("in my opinion" as someone would say lol) how the company that bought out Alltrue is handling things. That timeframe sounds about right. I remember not getting my winter box even though some had shipped. They filed for bankruptcy within weeks of BEGINNING to ship in like Feb or March. I tried getting my winter box but they claimed it was lost in the mail so they refunded me for the NEXT box which I'd been charged but NOT for the "lost" winter box right before they filed for bankruptcy. When they started back up it was like June and I wrote to them again and they still had a record of my "lost" winter box selections and they shipped it out to me since they still had all the stock. Ok you cringed on the FFF...why??? Have I missed something?

That’s amazing you got another box. FFF did a really inappropriate ad on Twitter/X. I absolutely don’t support their choice to be obnoxious in trying to be edgy. It wasn’t Katie’s it was the male owners. I think those of you that watch the channel know I’m pretty laid back and forgive and forget. Oooh gurl, you are right about Sembla. It's a made-up brand by Alltrue. Doesn't exist anywhere except on Poshmark. Edit: I got that exact same Kabuki brush on TEMU for $2. And Able Skincare? Puh-lease. Symbiosis London, Avant, & Able (two of which are owned by the same people) are all beauty box brands that aren't sold anywhere else (except on their own websites), & which have NO reviews for their horribly overpriced skincare. Their products are used to hyper boost the value of the box. It's kinda unethical, imo. Sorry about the rant. 🤪

Yes, you’re absolutely right about those supposedly high-end ‘brands’. 🤣 They’re given a ridiculous price to bump up the supposed ‘value’ of the boxes. See also: BellaPierre and Laritzy, et al. Ali Express-esque white/private label makeup ‘brands’, again used to bump up a box’s supposed ‘value’. 🙄 This has been going on for years with the UK-based, monthly, beauty subscription boxes, but customers are wising up and (mostly) calling them out about them online. However, you do still find unscrupulous micro-influencers on YT with no integrity, who are told time and time again about the poor quality of those products/‘brands’, but who still continue to gush about them being SO effective and high-end, just so they’re not taking off PR lists. It’s so disheartening because people new to subscription boxes might not know any better and think they’re getting an amazing deal. So disingenuous. ☹️ Love from London 🇬🇧

Love the sass! It is absolutely warranted with Alltrue. I subscribed when they were Causebox; my first Causebox was the last before switching to Alltrue. I somehow managed a successful charge back on the boxes that were supposed to ship but wouldn't due to the bankruptcy. Then after they were ... uh ... acquired... I received a box despite having canceled, etc. I attempted to stop it especially knowing so many were not as fortunate but I was unsuccessful. After multiple attempts to return/correct the situation with no response from Alltrue I donated the items. I really appreciate your honesty and your heartfelt opinions. As such have been wondering about your thoughts on FFF. I am a bit conflicted personally. My subscription is not due to renew until summer. Keep watching comments and behaviors to determine whether I will renew. For those wondering about the FFF cringe - Jen Luv posted a pretty good summary about it and how she's choosing to change personally.

But I also am a very forgiving, often to a fault, person. I know that the stupid male owners that instigated all of this don’t represent Katie or I hope, most of the people I have dealt with at FFF. Hi Kathrin! I got the diffuser from a FFF sale! I used my own "upgraded" container (bud vases are perfect for this) with the diffuser sticks/oil. Just an idea! Your Alltrue unboxings are cathartic because I was one of those that got cheated out of my last two boxes, with no ability to get a refund. I finally unsubscribed from their emails - they were still sending me offers after refusing to send me my last two boxes! It felt like getting rid of a toxic ex! lol. Put the lid back on and shake it well to blend the fragrance together and then put your reeds in 😃 I learned my lesson with a reed diffuser before and only one scent was forth coming after shaking the bottle all was well. 18:32

The past owners for causebox don’t paid the vendors the new owners don’t have any obligation to pay someone they don’t have a contract with and they also buy the company with all they have so that’s why they have all the vendors product. I pay yearly and I got my box and my rest of money back took time for them to send it but I got it 😊

I went and double checked but that tea diffuser (or one like it) you can get on temu for $1.79 The room lights look cool.. and everything else I have gotten in boxes a few years ago.. I used to buy the box when they had a $25 special (I'd buy like 4 of them) for gifts so everyone got that cutting board, and the PMD.. In fact, I have 2 PMD's sitting in my closet. I have been waiting to see if alltrue would weed out all of the repeats and get on to new products and maybe I would buy A box to try but will they ever get new stuff? I mean its been YEARS and they are still adding the same ole stuff!

Just My Opinion, but I love your rant and you are always honest. I trust Your Opinion. Have you seen any of Alexandria Ryan's advent unboxings? She gets so worked up especially with Sephora which has become a joke. During one of the department store advents she actually got up from her chair and walked out and came back. Just My Opinion, I thought you were very calm and were stating the facts. I have watched other channels who no longer get "(Not) Alltrue" because of the same reasons you've stated. I've been a CauseBox/Alltrue member for years now and after receiving this box, I canceled my membership. I'm so tired of the "favorites" option--as if I would choose any of these things EVERY SINGLE BOX. My reed diffuser also leaked the second I touched the bottle (no seal) - and I wondered how it survived shipping without opening all over everything. It's funny--or maybe it's just sad--how I kept HOPING it would get better, that the owners would get us back to the CauseBox of yesterday. I've been through FabFitFun, Ipsy, and Birchbox and now that I've canceled this one, I can move on to a beauty-subscription-box-free life. I hope you make it through the rest of your credits soon so you, too, can be done with them. Those products are only getting older....

I have considered resubbing to Alltrue since the disaster of the rebranding from Causebox (I lost several hundred dollars when they rebranded), however after just now seeing your unboxing for this box I have decided to not resub. I already have a couple PMDs from when they were Causebox AND I already have the bamboo serving set from them. I really wanted to like them and their products again, but it just doesn't look they are any better than they were a few years ago.

I did see the survey on another site. I did not see much that I liked. Hoping that it’s not totally accurate. I just saw the other thing you are referring to the other day and was not impressed. Spring is my last box left in my subscription and then I will decide if I should renew. Still looking forward to the spoilers and Kathrin’s video’s. I just wish they would go back to releasing all the information we need to make our selections.

Beachly is owned by Retention brands. That is who owns Alltrue. I would love nothing more than for someone new to own them….but I think it’s the same people. They also own BirchBox.

I made the mistake of buying the yearly membership once ... big mistake! Only the first box was nice, the rest was nothing but cheap stuff. I hated how they gave new members awesome choices and gave cheap stuff to people that were already locked in for a year, the extremely long waits, and poor costumer servic... I canceled and have never bought or even gone to their website. I only watch this to support you and spread the message hahaha for the love of God dont get this box, no matter how nice the first box might look like, its nothing but a trap !

I have to give kuddos to them. My box came with a shampoo leaked all over everything. I contacted them through email and they were quick to respond. They have replaced all my items and gave me a refund. Class act all the way. Couldn't be happier with my transaction with them.

Most “vegan leather” is just vinyl or other plastics that are HORRIBLE for the environment. Which is bad for animals. It also breaks down pretty quickly, more quickly than leather, and makes more waste. I truly believe leather is the more sustainable choice.

And as for ‘vegan leather’ when it’s actually plastic in most cases - nope! In fact when I see this in Amazon descriptions followed by ’PU’ in my imagination I hear a little kid saying ‘peee yeeww’ while pinching their nose. The one product that might be deserving of the term vegan leather is bio leather/plant based leather but never plastic.

Even Katie, the editor-in-chief, played it down as just a "dumb move." None of them took responsibility for the tweet with the GFY code. Gross. I'm done with FFF. And after being harassed with hate speech & death threats on Twitter recently, with no repercussions or removal by TwiX, I'm done with them as well. Just sad to lose my 12.5k followers, they are fantastic people. Elon is a pro-Putin thug who, after losing billions in ad revenues by legitimate corporations, has now resorted to porn ads. Ugh!
