As someone who is Southeast Asian, pandan is a leaf that is used as a spice/flavoring in (mostly)desserts in Southeast Asia and South Asia. It's used for its aroma, flavoring, and color. In Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam you'll see bright green colored desserts made with pandan. It matches really well with coconut, and it can be used as a spice in savory dishes.

Great video as always... I was there a couple of weeks ago for a weekday brunch...so a few things which weren't there oysters, dungeness crab, bone marrow, wagyu beef... So people do point out that Bacchanal seem unnecessarily expensive compared to other buffets, so in that context I must say the flavor is on point for everything I tasted at the Bacchanal... A couple days later I went for the Studio B buffet on a Friday which was the Prime Rib day...the prime rib was decent but I kept comparing it to the Bacchanal prime rib which was way better and that was pretty much the same for everything else...I mean if i had not tried the bacchanal earlier I would most probably have loved the Studio B buffet... I mean I paid almost double at the Bacchanal so i cannot really argue about Value for money but taste and flavor wise Bacchanal was better

The Bacchanal is the most decadent dining experience I've ever had, and I've had a lot of them. I love seafood, specifically shellfish, and you can't go wrong with any of those. The Dungeness crab is excellent, all the shellfish is. Always hot, steamy and fresh tasting (unlike most casino buffets.) And their meat station is wonderful. The duck is really good too. Even though the breads and pastas are tempting, for what you're paying I pass them up. Great video, thanks.

Escargot is on of my favorites!! Dip it in garlic butter!! I also adore almost all seafood but I have never tried raw oysters. Not sure about that one. Actually I just love food!! 😂😂😂 We all have to eat. I love exotic or off the standard food lists items bone marrow and gelatinous collagen parts of meats so much. Like ham hocks, pigs feet, pigs ears, oxtails, osso bucco, etc. I love truffle, caviar, pandan, mochi, and exotic fruits and veggies. Very few things I don't like. Beets and liver and intestines are major nasty to my palate. For $55 though I want to be there at the beginning of dinner and slowly eat my way through the buffet taking time to enjoy each dish and start out with seafood at is freshest and since it does not fill me very fast, followed by very small samples of various soups, then to small samples of Asian offerings, and then move on to the heavy hitters like meats and sides. Starting with the premium meats of course. I need a buffet. We don't have many buffets here in OKC these days. We used to have a lot more of them but most have gone away. Thanks for sharing❣️ 🤔. Now that you know what I like pass me a plate next time with my favorites. PS. I always have the turkey with stuffing/dressing and gravy with cranberry sauce when it's available too because it's my top comfort dish combo. 🦃 for the WIN❣️ Happy Thanksgiving‼️ 1️⃣💜👸🏻

There's a reason the King Crab station was 75% of the way down the line. $55 gives the restaurant a lot of margin, since a lot of that stuff (stews/soups, breads, hors d'oeuvres, etc.) can be produced in batches very cheaply. King Crab legs will always be expensive, and it's entirely possible for somebody to come in hungry and devour more than $55 in steamed King Crab. The odds of this are greatly increased if you let them at the crab before they fill up their plate with bread and salad.

This is a buffet you just have to have at least once if you're a Vegas local or you visit often. At least once, that's it unless you like it enough to come back which I do but I like trying other buffets in town as well, for me its a once a year type of place. Just look at those stations like the seafood and meat stations they're just so beautiful. I like how they make individual little plates and basket like serving containers it just makes it such a unique experience. Lastly, their desert station is incredible and just as unique in the way they serve things and how the station is laid out as the rest of the buffet. You have to eat the most expensive stuff at these buffets and have only a couple bites of everything that way you can try everything and still get filled up. ALSO I recommend drinking water (unless you want to drink alcohol and get tipsy which is fun too), stay away from bread, chips, any excessive carbs that fill you up anything starch. I just get the most expensive of everything since I am spending a lot to eat there.

Wut up Derek, you are right about the beef in Asian food its always cut super thin and hard to recognize what part of the cow it is, but you can never go wrong with the Carnage Carvery, as far as the snails go, i dated a french girl who introduced then to me at a french place and man were they bitter!, took a few beers to wash them down, never again but always down to try new foods

Last time I tried Bacchanal I was underwhelmed, but you’ve convinced me to give it another try. Lots of new things on there. I need to try that pandan brûlée!

I've been wanting to go there for years. Always checking out their Yelp. On facebook a while back they followed their executive chef throughout her day which I definitely recommend.

If you got the bucks it looks like it's worth it. The beef looked way too pink for me, but I guess that's how "gourmets" dig it. The employees seem very nice.

Totally worth it!

Who cares, if I am spending 55$ for a meal I am eating the most expensive food like seafood, meats, cheeses, asian food, etc. Fried chicken? meh go to the gold coast or excalibur or flamingo for that junk, fun junk but cheap junk.
