High school music 1 & 2 were my everything. I was known in school as the HSM girl lol. I didn't watch HSM 3 until a few years later because it came out in october 2008 and my dad died september 2008, so i wasnt too interested in going to the movies haha. but it is, to me, 100% the best one. I am one of those people who adored “when there was me and you” so i guess, i’ve lost my taste. Jokes aside, we have different opinions. Before i didn’t care about the song, well because i was young. I rewatched HSM1 recently, and when i heard the song again after a very long time, I really adored the song, because as an adult, i finally understood the lyrics, and it hit me hard, really hard, because i went through a situation like it, plus the way the song plays and vanessa hudgens voice was pleasing to the ears. I even got emotional and almost teared up when gabriella and troy stopped talking to each other in the movie. So i guess, not an entertaining song, but a relatable, emotional and hard hitting song for me.

Hahaha I laughed so hard when you said „it almost made me forget that Americans end their school year in the middle of the year” because it’s not only Americans. I think it’s much more common that it ends in the summer tbh (at least here in Europe & obviously the US) Also as a singer I can say that When there was me and you slapped!! Okay but I gotta vouch for my boy Zac and say even he didn't know that they would dub over him. I completely agree!! I had to cut this part out but I actually went on a whole rant about the fact he can sing damn well because he filmed Hairspray right after HSM1, the songs were just written before they were all cast and the songs weren't in his register!!!
