From a moral perspective and rule perspective, Allyson Felix and all involved parties were dead wrong. From a business perspective, I'm not surprised this was done. I have always liked Felix, but she chose her desire to run in the 100 and stole an Olympic opportunity from someone. To add insult to injury, Felix knew she was locked in for the 4x100 & 4x400 and likely the 200m at the time. This shows the organization and Felix's selfish desire in this case and Tarmoh became an immediate victim. I have always liked Allyson's image, brand and public expression in the sport, but this makes me hot. I followed Tarmoh at the time and she wasn't a nobody to me. If Allyson would have just told all involved parties "Tarmoh won fair and square and you announced as much - now were going to go represent USA and get it done." She didn't though, she told Tarmoh "I worked really hard and don't want this opportunity taken from me either." Tarmoh - "I was sitting there shocked, blown away." Knowing she collected all those medals and did so well in London, did Felix walk away less than purely jubilant on the inside knowing how this played out? That's a pretty heavy medal to carry besides the ones won in London. Hopefully, we learn from this immoral and selfish behavior. Dam Erin, this was a fire post and sad news at the same time. Just Wow

Seeing it from that perspective, I agree that Allison Felix had three other events already locked up. The right thing to do was to accept that Tarmoh was the third place finisher in that race and prepare for her 3 Olympic events. But I’m sure business dynamics played a big role in how Allison played this, and unfortunately it puts a stain on her reputation. I had always rooted for Allison Felix, but her decision cost Tarmoh a chance to go to the Olympics. But..if Tarmoh had ran a little faster than Allison Felix, this would all be a moot point..

It didn’t happen. Based on 1:30 of this video, it does look like a tie. Both women’s chests are at the line. Therefore, it was a tie. What follows is the rule: Q: In track, it is the chest that determines the winner of a race? A: “Yes, the torso, which includes the chest, abdomen, pelvis, and back, determines the winner of a track and field race. The first athlete to cross the finish line with their torso is the winner, not the athlete who crosses first with their head, limbs, or feet.” (Answer from Google AI) Since the officials called the race accurately, Allyson Felix should have rightly accepted their decision. Wouldn’t you? I would. Allyson Felix is a champion, and she is a kind and professional African-American woman (retired) athlete, who should not be blamed for this. I would have run against Allyson Felix to settle the issue, regardless of what was said, so that is Tarmoh’s fault, and she’ll have to live with her (nonsensical) decision. STOP THE COLORISM! That’s what this video is all about. Allyson Felix is light skinned and Jeneba Tarmoh is dark skinned, so this content creator, who is probably dark skinned, sides with Tarmoh, but the truth is, it was a tie. The fact that the track-side officials made different calls is irrelevant, as the human eye is unreliable and that’s the entire reason for reviewing PHOTO finishes. And so, in a situation like that, especially when 2 athletes finish at the same time to qualify for the Olympics, then I can see why, as ALLEGED, Allyson had wanted to fight for her spot on the Women 100M race. Let us also try & put our shows in Allison's place or let see it from Nike's place for her being their ambassador. This video only confirm what many speculated in regards to the Paris Olympics Men's 100, the race was a statistical tie and Kishane and Noah should have shared the gold. Even worse is, Jeter's finish over Felix is very clear; whereas Noah's "win" far more ambiguous. This confirms my suspension, America willingness to instigate outcomes for their very high profiled and chosen athletes at the expense of their own and others.

In my personal opinion we have to take into account when you run to qualify for Olympics, if you make it you then represent USA. And we all know that in this world USA always wants to be the best so they will always send the best. I think that Jeneba telling more of her side of the story made Allyson look shady. But honestly I don’t think jeneba would have been able to do what Allyson did in the 100m that year. Sorry guys. And from the photo finish it does look like a tie. Sorry. But one thing my coach always told me was “ you need to win” never leave it in someone else hands. I felt bad for her at that time but when she started to get so emotional about it and feeling that Allyson should have “gave her the spot” just because Allyson had been before was crazy. I’m sorry guys. I would have been Allyson too.

And God is good...she did not even medal in the 100m. That event left her & she transitioned to the 400m. Do u know the Jamaican 200m Olympic Gold medalist, Veronica Campbell, was hardly ever invited to the prof.league started b4 the Diamond League, and so Felix won all the races and pocketed the entire US$1M which was on offer at that time. They did not want the competition & Felix just owned the event on that professional circuit. Then, when so many non-Americans started winning, they changed the League with rules that the US$1M would be shared. Yeah....they were building a story around Felix - including the effort to pronounce her as the athlete with most Olympic medals, when so few were individual medals. Most track enthusiasts don't give that much ratings. So unfortunate that Jamaican Usain Bolt overshadowed her - all Gold medals for both individual and relays. And, even so, they tried so hard to deprive him of one of the gold medals - which was taken away due to a team-mate's retroactive test for a substance, which was NOT on the banned list at the time when he took a supplement. Sorry for that US athlete, Jenefa....internationally, others have been suffering like this. Every time JA does not put clear daylight from the US athlete, they come with a photo-finish win. St. Lucian Julien Alfred knew the assignment & put daylight between the declared queen of sprints, Shacarrie, who was already crowned. Yeah, they are building stories around her and Lyles....but we shall see what we shall see bcuz outside of a photo-finish, in track, it is just to gets to the line first, so the results speak for itself. Plus, there is a God! Crazy....demanding dominance even when not deserved. JA wins even being in the final bcuz the numbers in the pool and the preparatory advantages including funding, lie with the US; and plus, y'all have your fingers on the scale!

@The Erin Brown - Bro, another banger! Honestly, when have we ever seen USTAF act in the best interest of anyone but whoever they want to represent Team USA in track? So, forget them. I’m with you and Tarman-why even suggest a coin toss or runoff? If it’s a so-called tie, which I doubt, because they could’ve used the thousandths of a second to determine the winner, but that’s another story. Even with a tie, Tarman should’ve been chosen since Felix had other events lined up. But no, this is typical of how the US handles things, especially when it comes to Black athletes-pit them against each other, divide, and conquer. It’s sickening to see our own people bending over backwards to comply with this racist system, especially in sports. Makes me want to puke! Allyson had a lock on the 200m but the 100m is considered the more prestigious event, that's why Nike wanted her to represent the US in that event, so they could have their poster child synonymous with the premier race. Unfortunately she didn't place in the top 3, coming in 5th behind Shelly-Ann, Carmelita Jeter, VCB and Tianna Bartoletta, which is karma of a sort. I don't believe that Tarmoh would have beaten the top 3 if she'd been in the final, but we know that major championships can result in breakthrough performances.
