Good to see a review from someone who actually uses the tool for the purpose it was made (documentary, run-and-gun) - and who still gives EF lenses some love. As a C70 owner there are many things that are tempting about the C80, but not enough to justify the price tag. I can buy 2 used C70s used for the price of the C80.

@@ScandinavianCoward thanks, yeah if i owned a C70 i dont think i would upgrade. The main reason i got it was the size. Im coming from a C200 and this feels like a whole new system for me (in a good way). It will make my shoots easier and more enjoyable for sure.

Nice unboxing. Sample footage looks solid. Got me questioning my next camera purchase. Welcome to shooting Log color profile. I shoot everything in log. Does it shoot 4k60 full frame or is it cropped to super35?

@@MoonshotTim thanks, tim! Im not fully abandoning widedr yet haha. But i will definitely use clog2 more now. It was easy to grade and everything. 4k60 is still full frame in 422 10-bit but you can shoot 4k60 in raw as well and that’s when it crops into super35. I wont likely be shooting much raw though.

I agree, I just don't want to rig out a camera. The c80 is out of my price range but a used c70 is not. I am coming from a c100mkii so I am just use to a body that has everything included from audio connections to ND filters, to assignable buttons. Im torn because I do like the Lumix s5iix as well. And the price is good. But then comes needing to buy a cage, screw on filters, audio inputs etc.

@@d.edwardsfreelanceeditorvi4212 a used C70 is a great option and something I considered. I used my C100 Mark II for 8 years and shot two features with it. Probably the most underrated camera ever. If you like the C100 then I definitely recommend a used C70 over the Lumix. The Lumix has better specs on paper but if you’re already into the world of Canon then the C70 will be an easy transition.

It record audio in 4k 120 fps?
@monellifilms20 күн бұрын
@@gautamkumar1625 yes. I haven’t tested it yet but from what i read it creates a separate audio file on your SD card. 4k 120 has autofocus as well (which my c200 didnt have in HD 120)
@monellifilms17 күн бұрын
Actually, it does NOT record audio in 4k120 even though the C70 does. I have to imagine it will be added in a firmware update because the C70 does it. They have a “slow & fast with audio” option and it only goes up to 60, which is strange. It’s the same option and style as the C70 so I have to assume it will be added. Weird they don’t have it right away.

"you know, kinda, it's like...." every fifth word you say is a filler. It’s sad that these days people struggle to express themselves, even with all the technology available to prepare for a review like this. Personally, I don’t like teleprompters, but there’s a reason they exist. If a natural feel and spontaneity are key, then just learn how to construct well-rounded sentences. It helps you, not us. There are millions of channels to choose from; it’s you who seeks the attention. I know my comment might not be popular, but here’s my two cents.

He’s not “seeking attention” - don’t fricking watch then. He’s creating a video (voluntarily) and we are watching (voluntarily) because we hope to get some information about his opinion of the camera. I for one appreciate the information and someone taking the time to create free content for me to consume.
