My son-in-law and daughter used to have a business that made custom firefighters gear (suspenders, radio holsters, helmet shields, etc). One of their best sellers was the suspenders that he made. Watched him working on set. Video brought back memories.

I've always been impressed with Nathan's suspenders. My wife has done some tack work, but we never got around to suspenders. I would be proud to wear a pair of yours, especially after seeing how much work goes into them. I got a good laugh when I saw you punch cut your belt ends, did ya steal that cutting board out of the wife's kitchen? I use that same one and yes my wife is missing a cutting board from the kitchen. I hope you don't let that artisan skill go to the side in the future! Not only would like to win a pair but I need to check out the site you included to buy a pair. The basic design is why it has lasted nearly 200 years, when I was in the Marine Corps, we used the same design for holding up our utility belt for holding everything from ammo to canteens, we called it a Y-Harness. It's good to know where its roots came from, a skilled leather workman like yourself before the advent of nylon and such. I really enjoyed this video and what I hope is you helping to pass along what are skills that shouldn't be forgotten!
