I always knew of his attachment to the movie and Rolling Stones but im kinda blown away that he was also attached to a number of other prominent Hollywood films. Crowe is pretty blessed to have so much back. to back success since he was only 15.

I’m from there, too. Grew up nearby the Globe and Balboa Park. There really is something magical about the place, even though most of the lovely grass areas have been paved over…

I can definitely relate to Mr. Crowe. Grew up in Point Loma and started going to concerts at the Sports Arena and plays at The Globe just a couple years after his journey began. Did some writing about Rock & Roll in my high school journalism class. Even had the same first name. Yes, it was definitely hard to be cool in high school with a name like Cameron. But ever since Ferris Bueller, it's the coolest name ever. Almost Famous is one of my favorite films of all time. Can't wait to see the musical.

I'm a couple years younger than Cameron and grew up reading him in the rock mags. Music and record stores and concerts were a huge part of my teenage life. I was so thrilled when Almost Famous came out...that was my life, going to concerts, trying to meet the bands...such great memories. I'm so happy for him and all of his success and how he feels his mom with him every night in the theater. Hope the show goes on the road eventually!

Yes. The play touches all the key scenes from the film.

What I don’t understand about this show, is if they were going to continue using Tiny Dancer in it why didn’t they just have Elton John score the show, or at least allow the new composer to have the chance to write an equally important song for that scene? Imagine the most famous song in your show NOT being written by you.

06:40 could we please stop with this "color" nonsense. I am 43 years old, I don't look at people as a color, I never have, and simply saying the word makes all of us feel like we should be looking at people differently. I'll still see the Broadway show when I visit New York City in the summer of 23, and I don't care what color the cast is as long as they make the show great!

Almost Famous is a masterpiece and one of my all-time favorites. Sadly, I think the musical only happened bc Cameron is probably in movie jail after 3 huge bombs in a row. To be fair, I never saw the musical but it looks pretty cheesy. I think good musicals can (sometimes) become good movies, but not the other way around.

The love story isn't really between people. The love story is about music at a particular place and time and the way it brings people together. To put it another way: The love story isn't between Penny and Russel or Penny and William. The love story is between William and Rock music. If you insist on making the love story between people, it could be considerded a tragic love story.

@tiki98 I can't pick just one quote, so consider this a greatest hits: "Don't make friends with the rock stars." "I am a Golden God." "Is it that hard to make me look cool?" "The only currency in this bankrupt world is what you share with someone who's uncool."
