@@seanmannisto Signal is used, he's not cutting other people off or cutting up closely, he's fast but not necessarily unsafe. Many Germans drive like this every morning on their way to work. The unsafe ones are 'swimming' through the gap between two cars, not using any signal and cutting people off. Or the ones who are sticking to speed limit but using their phone or eating something while driving.

You do know that's what ANPR cameras are for, right? He needs to catch the beemer because he's a hazard, you're just getting a fine on your license plate. Not every speeder needs to be pulled over.

You can't ticket a car, goofy, you have to ticket a person. Cars don't have jobs, so they can't pay the fine. They can't show up in court to contest it, either, mainly because there is no procedure for getting a car into a court room that I'm familiar with, and it's not sentient anyways, so it'd be a huge waste of time. edit: Also, you call the BMW a hazard, but I didn't see the BMW pass on the right like the cop did. Didn't even have his lights on, like the BMW doesn't know that big American sedan with a pushbar and lightbar going 120 after him isn't a cop.

@bubbleman2002 License plate identities car's owner or designated driver (if it's a rental). In case of a court summons, if the owner was not the driver that committed the offense, he has to merely prove it wasn't him in the car. This is being done every day in Europe. Police chase two cars, dashcam makes out the license plate and average speed measurement, ticket comes by mail.
